Im just so frustrated right now. I have a C in AP Bio right now for the quarter with a biology teacher who i spoke to personally about this just last week and promised us that we would have more opportunities to bring up our grade.

Of couse, I am the only one that is bugging him about this in spite of the fact that others in my class have grades lower than mine but they are all seniors so they dont care about it all anymore and as a junior I MUST worry about my grades especially one that's a C. I;ve always been a straight-a student. however, this quarter we really only had two tests which were crammed in so quickly because of ap tests and as a result, most likely half the class is failing.

So i talked to him again today, and he's like well what would u do if I didnt give you anything? and without giving me a chance to respond, he's like NOTHING, you can't do anything!

Honestly though, not only did this response **** me off but makes me very worried. I always have great relationships with my teachers, but this one has made it very difficult. He rarely hands back tests we take so I wasn't even aware of this grade until we recieved progress reports.

I don't know what else to do. It's frustrating and we've only got like two weeks before finals so not much time is left. ughh.

For the record, I was one of FEW people who managed an A in his class last semester and a very, very high B this past quarter. I was hoping to do well this quarter and on the final, which I've prepared extensively for as a result of the AP exam...

idk its the same with my ap bio teacher…idk y but seems like they all suck both teaching wise and personality wise…

ughh glad to have some to share my misery with!

it’s too hard. i worked so hard for this class and now, it’s all looking to be a waste.

i know we shouldn’t learn for grades…but logically and practically, its kinda hard not to keep that in mind especially since colleges DEPEND on that…

yeah i kno wat u mean…its not fair, but wat can we do? pretty much nothing/ i even talked to my counselour and he told me to suck up to her or be nice and hopefully she’ll help my grade but im not that kind of person and yeah same here teachers naturally like me like im on good terms with them but ap bio teacher NOPE…
plus my teacher favors a students and im not on that list…idk wat i did not to be on the list and wat ur supposed to do to be on that list O.o …its just totally unfair…
really hate her right now…i dont even feel like going to class anymore, her favortism is that unfair! …

ughhh omg same here. my teacher so has favorites, he does a sport and a few kids in the sport are def his favorites.

not cool. the teacher def hates me. ahh

yup yup i know wat u mean.
but here she favors all her scioly ppl…they can turn anything in late and it’s okay!
but i was absent cuz of ap tests cuz i had ap testing the entire week last week well like 3 days so i took the other two days off…and shes like well u were “on campus so u couldve turn the packet in”…and shes like thats not a valid reason…
but for scioly ppl…a valid reason is that theyre in scioly and had to study , though it ended like a month ago and they turned the packets in a month late…its totally ok with her
even though my packet was like 5 days late…soooo unfair ugh

plus its worth like a 100 pts…which is a lot for our class and shes “still thinking about whether to accept it or not” …grrrr

im so with ya. i just hope he gives us more stuff to do to bring the grades up…theres not much time left!

i dont care what he thnks of me anymore anyways, we only got a few more weeks of school so ill just suck it up and deal with it…i guess

yeah same here.
good luck with that lol it was nice sharing terrible ap bio teacher experiences lol
hopefully everything works out :)

same situation here, too. our tests count for 80% of our quarterly grades and we have no makeups or extra credit opportunities. the worst part is the teacher doesn’t care. whenever i try to approach her, she’s just like “maybe you should have studied harder…try studying for 6 hours instead of 4” or some BS like that. sadly, we’ve only had 2 tests this quarter and now that the AP is over, we’re not taking any more. i can sense she’s getting frustrated with my desire to improve my grade.

my suggestion: go to higher levels of authority. schedule a meeting with your dean or principal. discuss the matter with your parents, have them get involved if you’re not comfortable doing it yourself.

Yeah. I think I will wait until Monday of next week to see if he gives any assignments as promised otherwise I will speak to my counslor, although idk of what help she can be…but ill try anyways

my teacher has the same attitude…its as if he WANTS me to do bad and not improve my grade…that just boggles my mind!

The bio teacher here is very nice. Sort of funny because her name is Harsh.

do u guys have bio finals? i do…how are u studying if u have one now that that ap exam has passed?

my teacher is using the ap grading scale with past ap tests…n saying that 5=A, 4=B, 3=C, etc…

ughhh
