okay im going to make an OFFICIAL math team/club (the one we had was unofficial). i know this is such a stupid trivial question but what should i call it? the math team? or the math club?

Does your school have guidelines for these types of things? We are a robotics team, no doubt about it, but our school still recognizes us as a club because we have less than 50 students and some other stuff. There is actually a criteria for determining club or team status. If you compete, I would think of it as a team.

yeah we compete, a lot, in fact we dont do anything else we just go to competitions.

but yeah i was thinking i wanted to start actually practicing and having meetings instead of just competeng

the math cult

math team sounds cooler than math club by far IMO. and president sounds more distinguished than captain. however, ultimately it won't matter as long as you're competing and doing well enough for your team/club to be recognized.

In my opinion when it comes to math, it really doesn't matter what you call it. Adcoms will know either way that you are doing math. Calling it a team or a club will not change it. The only thing it will do is make it sound cooler.

Just make sure that whatever you are doing, you are doing it well. Adcoms will see through the commitment.

enjoy high school......
