Tebow coming back: UF a lock to win another championship

Tebow: 'I'm coming back'

Gatorsports staff report

Florida junior quarterback Tim Tebow made the announcement all Gator fans wanted to hear on Sunday. After his speech he turned around and said, "Oh and one more thing, let's do it again. I'm coming back!"

yep I was there…gave everyone chills. Everyone went nuts

'Bama will be hungry at the SEC Championship game, but who knows, the SEC is crazy.

Nothing is a lock in the SEC! It was a down year, but remember, we lost to misissippi this year and Auburn in our last championship run.

ehhh… I don’t think Alabama will be as much of a threat now that Coffee and Wilson are gone. I think LSU is going to be pretty good. Especially if that QB of theirs plays anything like the way he played in the Chick-fil-a Bowl. Either way, Florida’s got a good shot at 14-0!

I personally think 'Bama overachieved this year(until the end), and it will be interesting to see how they fare in 2009. They are definitely capable of making it to the SEC championship game. It will be interesting to see how the replace JPW, but Bama fans I’ve talked to said that the next QB has more upside than JPW, so we’ll have to see.

Yeah I’ll be rooting for the Gators even though I am a Longhorns fan. I do have Florida as one of my top favorite schools though. I used to live in Florida that’s why. Port St. Lucie to be exact.

This is so exciting! Hopefully I will be able to attend UF next year with Tim Tebow! I’m not really a football fan, but going to a school of such high athletic & academic quality is a college dream!

I wasn’t really into football until I came to UF! :O

And it’s been amazing!

I’m looking forward to another awesome year!

No school is a lock. No matter who is the quarterback. I hope UF acheives this repeat quest but don’t put too much stock in Tebow. He can’t win it alone as proved by last season when he won the Heisman but UF did not even win the SEC.

Amen, curious77. Just way too many variables.

I agree but we have to be the favorite.

Georgia was the favorite last year.

Just saying.

georgia didn’t have tim tebow and the UF defense…not to mention georgia had never proven itself. It’s #1 ranking was based almost solely on returning starters.

But if Tebow slips on a book, say a Bible, and tears his ACL, where is UF going to be?

They would still be pretty good, but would not make it out of the SEC undefeated, IMO.

You can’t use the probability of a team’s star player getting injured for the season as the reason why you can’t know if they are going to be good. Then, there’s no point in even discussing this.

UGA beat down a completely overrated Hawaii team, who ESPN thought could take on Georgia. However, most SEC fans knew that Hawaii wouldn’t be able to do squat against an SEC defense. But when everyone else saw UGA shut down Hawaii’s offense like that they were stunned, and thought UGA’s performance deserved a preseason #1 ranking, which it really didn’t.

lol touche hawaiiboy

IF UF gets past Alabama then we are going to win the SEC again. As long as their isn’t a playoff system then the SEC Champ gets to go to the BCS Championship.

I’m not too sure Florida and Alabama will be playing next year. It’s looking pretty even between Ole Miss, LSU and Bama now that Bama will have a new QB and new tailback. Maybe there will be a 3 way tie and then a huge controversy over who gets picked. Nah… that would never happen.

Because a three-way tie with huge controversy has never happened before… :)
