sup everyone, Ive been looking to pursue my studies in engineering at Virginia tech. i was just wanting to know my chances of getting in. (its hard to get into i know)

GPA: 3.9W/3.42UW
SAT: 1070 (530 math and 540 reading)
ACT:i will be taking it in September....i would like to get somewhere between 25-28
EXTRA CURRIC: Technology student association, automotive club, FBLA, 50 hrs of comm service, beta club, key club
I have taken a few engineering courses in high school. I have also taken calculus and 2 AP courses including AP Physics C and AP biology over my high school.

And another thing...well it help if i apply early decision? and if i get deferred, will they defer me to universal studies or decline me from the college all together?

Hey blakeDeezy, I will be honest, your SAT scores are in the lower range for Virginia Tech. Also your GPA is kind of low, but if your class rank is high that can help. Your ECs are decent, try to showcase your passion for tech./engineering in your essays. I’d say Virginia Tech is still a reach at this point for you but you have a decent shot. Early Decision would definitely help you, and would make the school more of a match. Good luck to you!

i think that your stats look kind of average. regardless of what you think, average is not really that bad. a deference is a possibility but you never know. oh, and hope for the higher end of your act range. and if you don’t get it the first time, take it again… My act improved by 3 points the second time i took it…
