civil 101 is pretty basic force balance and some dynamics… 110 is pretty much engineering stats so those 2 should be pretty easy for you, i know a lot of people did 110 as technical breadth

Is there a date we need to declare our technical breadths by? I haven’t really thought about mine yet because I’m probably not going to be taking a class for it soon…

any easier/more interesting cs upperdivs? i am planning on doing cs as technical breadth, since 1 of the 3 can be cs 32 i just need to find 2 more… i remember my roommate said computational genetics was pretty easy… anything else you guys recommend (i think theres a lot of cse and cs ppl on here right? :D)

It seems like you’re more interested in getting an easy A rather than on the subject. So I would recommend you consider the MAE option since the 101 and 105 are easy. Some CEE should be just as easy. The Nanotechnology option looks like it might be cut since some classes have been canceled in the past so keep that in mind.

one of my best classes came in nano - MAE187L. However, it is a very expensive class for them to run, so I’ll have to see how it will work out in future years.

^ that’s good to hear because i’ve heard it sucked. I’m guessing it depends on who teaches it. Another class to consider is EE 122L but you will need some prerequisites for that.

Well, in terms of my experiences with Nano - M105 = pretty boring to me, learned some new things, but I had trouble staying awake here.

ENGR 103 or whatever (environmental nanotech) was boring as well since the lecturer’s slides weren’t super intriguing and the peer presentations weren’t top notch quality either.

MAE 187L was really awesome - taught by Yong Chen and just a really cool class to learn how to use equipment and be creative (for the class project final).

in civil & environmental, has anyone taken this one?
105. Technical Communication (4)
i liked Engineering183W…

also, i am considering this:
151. Introduction to Water Resources Engineering (4)
it says Recommended requisite: Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering 103
is it okay that i dont take that class? will i be at a huge disadvantage?

i think you would be at disadvantage for 151 as it’ll probably deal with fluids a lot, and mae 103 is fluid mechanics, but the 103 stuff is pretty simple and you can probably learn it on your own, then again i haven’t taken 151 yet, im taking it next quarter since its required for CEEs to take it… but if you want an easy civil upperdiv look at 110 :)
