I'm trying to finally decide which major to finish up with so I can at least have a Bachelors degree in something. For some reason, which I do no quite know, every time I hear/read Polytechnic I don't perceive a tech degree on the same level as a typical Bachelor of Science degree. Am I wrong in thinking a Management Bachelor of Science is any more prestigious or lucrative to advancing my career, than say a Manufacturing Engineering Technology Bachelor of Science (B.S.) or Operations Management Technology Bachelor of Science (B.S.)?

In all honestly the course requirements for the either of the Technology degrees seem much more involved and require a lot less fluff classes. Are the latter two degrees looked at in the career world as lesser degrees than a non tech degree? Are those type of degrees more geared towards non management professionals? I dont want to handicap myself by getting the Operations Management Technology or the Manufacturing Engineering Technology when its just as easy to finish up and get the Management Bachelor of Science degree.

Some background on me: I have been in the manufacturing field for 8.5 years now (Since turning 18) on many different levels. Production assembler, manufacturing engineering assistant, coordinator, supervisor, process engineer, manufacturing engineer, supplier quality engineer, and currently a manufacturing engineering technician. I recently left the previous company I worked at for a little over 7 years, where I had all the positions under the sun. I am no at a smaller company and in order to give myself more tools to advance whether it be here or somewhere else I'd like to finish up on a bachelors degree. It's at the point now that nearly "any" degree will allow me to make the next step as I already have a lot of hands on knowledge but not the paper to get my foot in the door. I don't want to just finish up with a completely irrelevant degree when it's just as easy to complete something that will benefit me.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
