Technology help?

I'm not sure where to post this, so here it is.

I am making a flowchart for a science fair project. However, I would like to get the flowchart to split up like this:
<a href="http://i53.tinypic.com/rh1k4x.jpg%5B/url%5D">http://i53.tinypic.com/rh1k4x.jpg</a></p>

I know it's a crude sketch of what I have in mind, but is there any way to do this in Word? I can create flowcharts using SmartArt but can't get them to branch off...and since my Photoshop/Illustrator skills are little to none, I can't really make a flowchart look good there either.

Do you have Word 2008 on a Mac? I’m not that good with Microsoft Office either but I might have an idea.

Use the drawing tools to make lines/arrows, and text boxes!

I have Word 2007.

@yvettec, I figured that would work, but was considering it to be my last resort since I can’t get the boxes to look as professional as they do in SmartArt.
