Hello!
Has anyone here gotten their TEFL certification? Was it a worthwhile experience? Which provider of certification did you use, and would you recommend them?

Thanks! :)

Does anybody have any information on this? Any help would be appreciated!

We looked into ESOL a bit, as it's something my D is interested in. But we have only found it as a certificate add-on for someone who already has an education degree.

As I understand it, ESOL is a US term, and the ESOL program teaches English to people who need to learn to function in the English-speaking school or community. TEFL is a British term, and it implies teaching English in foreign countries. TEFL certification does not always require a degree -- depends upon the country you are teaching in. (In Germany, teaching in a school or college requires a teaching degree. But smaller, specialized businesses don't necessarily care.)

I have no help for you, but I'll be interested in anybody else's responses. This forum doesn't get a lot of activity. Maybe posting on the Parents Forum would get more response.
