Tele-bears

I just checked my Tele-bears appointment time, and it's on May 1st. Does anyone else feel that it's super-late, or is it just me? I'm not taking any "hard science" classes like chem/physics/bio this year, so I'm not too worried about those and getting into labs like last semester. However, I do want to get an R1B (preferably from the History of Art department) and a foreign language class (namely, beginning Greek). What are the chances of being able to actually be enrolled, and what are the chances of being waitlisted, with an appointment time that late into Phase I?

thats pretty late, mine is april 15th.....

What is Tele-bears?

Oi.. I know. That's why I'm kinda nervous about maybe getting waitlisted on my class choices.

Tele-bears is the online class-enrolling system. It's separated into Phase I and Phase II. Students register for a maximum of 10.5 units for Phase I, and the rest in Phase II. Incoming freshmen will complete Phase I during CalSO, at the earliest, as is mentioned in the CalSO thread.

winterpolaris and dmcwhiz123, what class standing will you have next year?

I will have junior standing next year, and my appointment will be on April 24.

At least we have it better than incoming freshmen.

Wait, is evryone hear like already in Berkeley and talking about classes to take?

I have sophomore standing, but I think it's that late for me because I was readmitted for fall after withdrawing this past spring. (Long story.) So, I guess, it's kind of my fault in part. Oh well.

uh, can someone please say what tele bears is ? Why do you need an appointment, is it everyone should do/have?

i am curious as well

Tele-Bears is Cal's online system for registering for classes (and subsequent class add/drop and grade-change). Everybody has an appointment time for Tele-Bears to make it fair and so that the server doesn't crash. Appointment time received is based on your class standing and special needs (disabled or athlete), but within your category, your given appointment is fairly random. So yes, it's something everyone needs to do. There are separate appointment times for Phase I and Phase II. In Phase I, you can only sign up for max 10.5 units - this rule applies to everybody. In Phase II, you can sign up for whatever else you want up to 20.5 units total.

for incoming feshies: just go to CalSo n u'll find out about everything =)

This thread is for those attending UC Berkeley already.

My tele-bears is on the 24th. I'm finishing my first year with junior standing.

oh, appointment times, that's a brilliant idea!

i'm finishing my second year with a second semester senior standing....
