Crow, what are you planning on double majoring in?

haas and applied math. omnomnom~

@batman: YES. I want to declare my simult degree now!! Grr.

Currently a soph. with senior status, 4/13. Undeclared majors also has it later.

Currently a sophomore. 4/25 at 1pm
I’m double majoring in Haas and Psychology, but my Psych declaration isn’t going to go through until after Telebears is finished…gahhh. Gotta fight for those upper division Psych courses…

omg 4/29 incoming sophomore.

■■■ I have to sign up for E7, Chem 3A/AL, Math 54, and Physics 7A.

THIS IS NOT GOING TO WORK AHSDLFJ:SKDFJ:SKDJFLKSDJFLKSJDLSD

sounds like someone’s trying to commit schedule suicide. have fun in stacks next semester :)

4/14 current sophomore/incoming junior, undeclared

i’m still confused as to how they go about assigning times. some of my friends who have the same number of units that i do have appointments on like the last week of april. but i’ve noticed that these are also the same friends that didn’t get early times as incoming freshmen. i’ve always had relatively early telebears times for my level. does this somehow play a role in your future telebears times?

@neongreen: love your screename!

@every one else:

incoming sophomore: Apr 11, 2011 6:20 PM
but i am a military veteran so i get priority registration here at cal

but just a thought and an observation, there are alot sophomores who have distinct telebears apt. as early as 4/14. some as late as 4/29… thats a huge difference i must say

how do we figure out what our appt for phase 2 is?

uhm…it says right below phase 1? lol

I think they allot a certain time period for a certain academic standing. For example picking arbitrary dates, 1/01 for athletes/special students, 1/02 - 1/06 are for Senior standing, 1/06-1/12 for Junior standing, and etc.

So in my theory at least, your current standing determines the time period and from there, it’s randomized whether or not you get the earliest time in the time period or the latest. This makes the most sense, and the main problem doesn’t lie in the theory, but the failure to update academic standing before Telebears appointments arrive.

No, I bet the allocated periods overlap a little…

If you want to know how the system works, refer to this old thread
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-california-berkeley/576290-bearfacts-telebears-your-class-levels-please-sticky.html

I could see the periods overlapping within the same day, but not more than that. I haven’t seen anyone with a lower standing get an earlier date than one with a higher standing except for when their standing hasn’t been updated (this may happen but I’d like to see someone state this before I can assume that this counter-evidence exists). Although people blame Telebears for screwing up, it really is illogical to blame a algorithm-operated machine. The only fault lies in the negligence to update the standings, which is processed manually, or at least by occasion.

it’s weird because when i click telebears appointment times, the appt times shown are from last semester…

Go to bearfacts.

If your theory were true, 187, I’d have a better Telebears time. I’m a current freshman, and my standings for Telebears is junior level, yet my appointment for Phase I is 4/29 at 6:30 PM. At least a few of the discussion/lab time slots I need are already filled up or close to full.

I already got shafted last semester being an FPF kid (which, by the way, was pure bad luck, 'cause how you get put into FPF is also pure chance. It’s basically by raffle). So, not only have I, as well as most other FPF kids, paid more tuition than the rest of the students here on campus, we also got lower quality education for the first semester, and some of the worst Telebears times for Spring 2011, we’re still getting shafted for Fall 2011. While I did get into all the classes I wanted (sort of) this semester, I didn’t get the lab I wanted, and as a result I’ve had a hectic semester of playing catch-up 24/7. I really don’t want to have to do that again. Makes me wonder if the whole “FPF” status is gonna plague me throughout my entire time here at UCB. Also makes me wonder why I didn’t take NYU’s offer to enter their medical program.

When do incoming freshmen sign up for classes?

^ Phase 1 during CalSO, Phase 2 sometime over the summer
