I am a math major but I am also doing pre-dental. I really dont want to take chem 3B and I am a little confused by the pre dental reqs. Can I take chem 1a, 1b (general), 3a and mcb100 (organic) satisfy my chem reqs? Telebears on monday so help please! thanks

of course you can do it that way!

just get good grades in all your classes and you’ll be a shoe in…

to the reject pile

because you won’t have fulfilled the requirement of 1 year of organic chemistry with the lab component and thus not prepared for the majority of the orgo section on the DAT

do a little research, you have to take 3b and 3bl from the chemistry department not mbc 100a which falls in the department of molecular and cell biology (in fact online schedule says for mcb 100a, 3b is recommended)

here’s the catalog description: Thermodynamic and kinetic concepts applied to understanding the chemistry and structure of biomolecules (proteins, DNA, and RNA). Molecular distributions, reaction kinetics, enzyme kinetics. Bioenergetics, energy transduction, and motor proteins. Electrochemical potential, membranes, and ion channels

that doesn’t sound like ochem

^Umm… anonymous, MCB C100A is also Chemistry C130, so it is definitely chem.
MCB 102 which isn’t even in chemistry is also considered chem by most.

To maximize you chances in as many places as possible you should be taking
Chem 1A-B, Chem 3A-B (with lab for both), and MCB 102

hey

sorry that wasn’t me…one of my brothers was on my 'top and wrote that while I was doing something

(i was kind of surprised to see a star next to this thread)
