Dude. I just checked DARS, and it prints out a bunch of stuff - pretty incomprehensible, overall. Bearfacts still doesn't have anything for me...

DARS says I have 51.3 units; 33.3 from AP/whatever, and 18 from current coursework - what does this mean? Am I at a higher standing or some sort? I have no idea...

Ok hear is how your TeleBEARS ranking works

Add up your Berkeley units, your Berkeley summer session units, and your CCC/other UC/UCSU transfer units.

-Your education level, refers to your status for something that I don't know.
-If it is less that 30, you are a freshman; <60, a sophomore; <90, a junior; >=90 senior. This corresponds with your Non-AP level.
-Your Future (Telebears) level, is used when a course has Jr/Sr/etc. limitations. Over the summer those bastards blanked mine because they were idiots and my IB credit confused them. Originally they gave a senior future level then they blanked it and then when the semester started they gave it back. In example, I was waitlisted for IB 160 when there were seats in the class because my future level was not junior or senior (because it was idiotically blanked)

If you have IB credit, you will confuse the system a lot. The system is old and IB is new to California.

Now here is where you AP credit comes in. Look at your non-AP level. Within TeleBEARS phases, there are 'unofficial sub-phases'. All athletes and DSPs have their appointments within a sub-phase, all graduating seniors have their appointments within a sub-phase, all seniors have their appointments within a sub-phase, etc.
AP and IB credits push you to the front of your sub-phases, but not into the prior sub-phase.

Now I am wondering whether my non-AP level will still be sophomore. I will break 60 units this semester. (16 in FPF 07, 18 in Spring 08, 8 in Summer 08, 19 this semester)
