I'm going to be a Freshman at Berkeley this fall and two other admits and I are thinking of getting a triple in Telegraph Commons. The area seems ideal and it's really cheap. :)

Does anyone have any experiences rooming here?

Also, if I bring a car how will I park it? I plan on just driving it up from out of state but is there a place to park it in front of the building? Or do people use parking garages?

Would there be somewhere like a long-term parking garage that costs very little, for students who wish to use bicycles everyday and only use their cars for long trips??

Having lived there for a few months, I’m going to advise against rooming there. The place is incredibly expensive for a really, REALLY cramped room with really nothing else. For the price, it’s much better to just get an apartment, though if you’re really looking forward to making friends, it might barely be worth it. It’s truly better to live in the dorms than in TC if that’s really what you’re looking for.

To my knowledge, TC doesn’t really have any place to park, so you need to find another apartment complex, school parking area, or private parking place to put your car. Parking usually costs in excess of 100 dollars, though if you live in apartments with parking, you’re charged around 75.
