I have applied to transfer schools at the end of freshmen year. I do not know if I will be accepted to the school I applied to. I only applied to one, so if I don't get in, I am staying put. I have a good relationship with my current roommate and I have not talked about transferring. Should I wait until I know and act as if I am continuing on or should I tell her. Even if I get accepted to the other school, I may stay put, I'm conflicted. Help!

tell her

just tell her, and explain that you dont know for sure whats happening yet

If you haven’t told anyone else there, I wouldn’t tell your roommate. What do you hope to accomplish by telling her? As you said, it may not even come to pass. It would be different if you knew for sure that you were leaving or if you wanted to discuss it once you got your acceptance, but bringing it up now would be premature.

I agree with justlookingnow. I haven’t told mine. Or even any of my friends yet because there is a good chance I will stay at my current college.

Yeah unless you’re applying to schools that you’re 99% positive you’ll get into, I can only see telling people being awkward if you end up staying. At least that’s my rationale for not telling people.
