Hi, I've done just about every bit of research on these five colleges I'm interested in: NYU, UC Irvine, Georgetown University, Villanova, and Carnegie Mellon. What I DON'T have information about is an HONEST evaluation of what these colleges are like in terms of environment, student life, and the overall social atmosphere.

If you have the time, and if you're a student at one of these colleges, could you please tell me what you like and/or dislike about the school you go to?

I'm sure that if you search, you'll find many threads that answer your question. For CMU in particular, it's hard for us to give you a good idea of the school unless we know what you're interested in, because the schools within CMU vary quite a bit. The impression the average business major has of the social life here seems to be quite different than the impression that a computer science major gets.

My son spent sleeping bag weekend in the suite of two or three drama majors and one computer science major. The drama kids played video games with him until two a.m. The computer sci guy was doing his homework. OTOH, at least they were rooming together! :)

I think there are too many differences between the schools at CMU to really provide an accurate analysis for you. There's the business school, engineering school, art school etc. They're all very different, but CMU is a great institution.
