Lol, they told me to post here, but I'm getting more responses from the College Search section.
I've tried google; I can't get the inside scoop. For example I know about the "inside stuff" at UCLA/USC. Since I don't live anywhere near Cornell, I need to ask friends I have there. I only have two friends that go there, so that's why I'd like more opinions on the school..

dining is top of the class, but like all cafeteria food, it gets old fast.

housing is fine, unless you're a party-girl and you get put into balch or something. i'm in donlon right now and i feel so lucky to have been placed there for the atmosphere even though mews/court/kay trumps it dorm-wise.

arcades.... are you joking........... no i don't think so

natural scenery is amazing. you can go on long walks with your date and whatnot.

nearby malls - pyramid malls - are pretty far away. you have to take a bus there (walmart, target, bestbuy i think, etc)

movie theaters i haven't been to yet.

academics is not as rigorous as it's hailed out to be. i'll have to get back to you on that after i get my pre-lim results :)

Haha, thank you CynicalBliss. This is very helpful.

Although Balch is reputed to be the nicest dorm...

There is the Triphammer Mall and the Pyramid Mall. The Pyramid Mall is nicer, although it's kind of far... but you can take a bus.

The campus itself is really nice. It's quite convenient to walk everywhere.

I don't think I can judge academics yet, but it often depends on the major.

the scenery is nice but im not so sure that its so convenient to walk around campus- again that depends on your schedule. i live on north campus so i wanted to 'block together' my classes so i wouldnt have a dead hour in between - its about 25-30 minute walk to get to central campus for me- by the north frats. by doing this- i have 10 minutes to get from baker laboratory to morrison hall then 10 minutes to get back to mallott (this one is pretty doable) but lemme tell ya, i havn't gotten to morrison from baker in less than 12 minutes yet- and i hustle.

i guess this deviates from your original post so ill get back to that. dinings great- im a transfer so i can compare- it's a lot better here. dont know much about housing- live off campus apartment, but the dorms look a lot nicer than ones ive seen in the past, pyramid mall is a bus journey. net distance its not that far by automobile, but buses are buses and they dont take everyone exactly where they need to go- you might have to switch buses a couple times. academics- not as bad as they are cut out to be- and im a science major, donno about aem or hotel. i came from a trimester school and that was much more fast paced.

how is pyramid mall far?! the bus (plenty of buses this year) get you there in like 10 minutes and run every half hour...

dining is good...but not totally consistent...

dorms are all over the place...just make the best of it

scenery is nice but november-april...scenery is white and slippery :o
