tell me about your SPOP experience current students

i can't wait for SPOP!
i really want to get to know the campus and meet new people
i'm so disorganized now and so confused with certain requirements
i'm hoping SPOP will clear up the confusion

Honestly, after they changed SPOP from being a three-day/two night two a two day/one night style, I'm sure some stuff would change.

I went to SPOP two years ago, and I enjoyed it. I'm not sure what would be changed since the schedules changed. But I don't think I was rally involved, so I didn't dance for the SPOP dance thing. There were a few presentations from staff. I did enjoy doing the hall cheers though, especially seeing the other halls do the same.

i have a question. since its a two day thing. do we have to stay on the campus or stay a hotel? and, do parents have to go. do you think its better for parents to come or no?

What activities do they have at SPOP for us? There's going to be a dance?

Because it seems like SPOP has gotten shorter, some activities that were part of SPOP for me might have changed. Therefore it might be different for this year since times got shifted and such. As for where students stay, they stay at one of the campus dorms for the night. For parents, they will have to find their own accommodations for the night (which was something that was different for my year when I participated).

For the activities that I did, it was basically shows presented by the staffers, academic advising, and a dance (don't worry about clothing...it's really casual if there is one or not). There are also some late night hall activities (ours was in-n-out and cha). Hopefully this information is correct but due to changes the experience might be different every year. Also some stuff might vary from hall to hall so use this as a general outline.
