Tell me if these Awards are useless

The book awards are publicity by the local alumni clubs. Nice to mention. But really worthless – even to compare with the others in your school that got 'em. In my metropolitan area of 5 million residents, do you know how many high schools award the Yale Book Award? One. That’s because the single alumni contact with his HS alma mater wants to keep Yale’s name up in front of that school. Does this hurt Yale in any way? Nope.

If you want more info on the significance of “book awards” do a search on this forum. They are nice but not a big deal whatsoever.

what would be the best way to order these awards on my resume? Of course I have meaningful ones but how would I rank these?

They are not at all useless. Mention them all with brief descriptions.

Edit: You can order them in two ways
1) Chronological order
2) In order of importance to you

I don’t know why you would omit these awards, if it counts for anything is your school involvement and that is appreciated at any school.

Some applications have spots for academic awards and that is where you would list yours.

You should put anything YOU think is representative/worth to you. Don’t worry, nothing in this area will make or break your app.

Good luck.
