Alright, so I was deciding between Brown and UPenn.

I visited both schools and really loved Brown: the atmosphere, the students, etc. and UPenn was pretty good too but I much prefer the smaller atmosphere and community at Brown.

I was originally planning on majoring in Engineering, but now I’m thinking possible math, applied math, or something in the sciences. I know UPenn has a bigger engineering program, and is more known as a “science” school than Brown, but like I said, I prefer the atmosphere at Brown. Plus since I’m not sure what I want to do, Brown would offer a little more flexibility. THe only thing that worried me was that some people said that Brown wouldn’t be a good choice unless I was more into humanities and such.

NOw I’m about 90% sure I’m going to Brown, and I have the card filled out and everything. I just want someone to tell me I’m making the right decision here.

I'd go to Brown if I were you.

go to brown. My best friend from brown majored in engineering and got a great job at GE right after graduating. She's still there and designing jet engines.

Brown's applied math dept is supposed to be pretty great anyway.

Whoever told you that Brown is just for humanities was wrong. Brown's applied math and engineering programs are very well respected. It's clear that you feel Brown would be a better fit for you, so come here!

dan.... i feel your pain. just a few threads down you'll see my "help me choose!!! brown vs penn" thread.
i chose brown. for engineering id say penn but math sounds like brown to me. you know, they're pretty much level as far as academics go so you can't go wrong...if you like the atmosphere at brown then go there!!
hopefully ill see you in september..

Magenta,

I'll see you in a few months!

The commitment card is in the mail...

I choose brown over penn too!!
