<p>I would really like anyone’s opinions and a vague idea of what my chances are of getting into Vassar...below are my stats. </p>

<p>I am a Latino/Hispanic [w/e we call ourselves these days/whatever is PC!]
Male</p>

<p>[I am also the first in my family to graduate high school and attend college my mom dropped out her senior year to come to the United States from the Dominican Republic to get a better life for herself and her family.]</p>

<p>Public High School (Murry Bergtraum High School for Business Careers)
Major: International Travel and Hospitality
*This major is very competitive at my school out of 868 kids that applied the year i applied only 32 seats were available (I got a seat!)</p>

<p>SAT I Reasoning:

Math:460
Writing:470
Total:1490/2400</p>

<p>[I know! I am going to take it again in January! aiming for atleast a 1700-1800]</p>

<p>SAT II Subject Exams:
United States History: 540
Spanish: 760</p>

<p>[I want to take the World History SAT II, but only if i can take it the same day as the SAT`s]</p>

<p>ACT: 21</p>

<p>GPA:
3.0 /4.0
Class Rank: 211/497 </p>

<p>Excellent personal essay I am adding a very unique personal touch!</p>

English Honors (9th Grade)
English Honors (12th Grade) Fusion: Literature and Computer Art
Fusion: Lit. and Comp. Art is a new alternative to AP Literature we actually read a lot of books, short stories, poems and the likes and create monthly E-Zines (Internet Magazines) we use software like Adobe Photoshop, Macromedia:Flash,Dreamweaver and Fireworks and Microsoft FrontPage and of course the internet(so much fun!)</p>

<p>Extracurricular:
Varsity Tennis [not quite athletic] Tennis Team Manager</p>

<p>Virtual Business: Virtual Voice Inc. Business class in school where we run our own company, ours is an online travel magazine I am the VP of Marketing and Design and I am in charge of marketing and design our company.</p>

<p>DVD Yearbook 2006: I am the Co Editor-In-Chief/Art Director/PR Liaison</p>

<p>Montage Yearbook Staff: It is so serious in my school that the yearbook is considered a class, and we get graded and tested on design elements and ideas.
*Very competitive I got in out of 90 seniors that applied only 15 got in!</p>

<p>ICP (International Center of Photography) Teen Academy: Black and White Photography</p>

<p>Peer Tutoring: Bilingual Tutor Director: I am the most popular tutor because I try to make things fun all day every day I also am bilingual and cater to many bilingual students.</p>

<p>YAB (Youth About Business) Summer Business Camp at Columbia University was Chief Marketing Officer/LEADERSHIP TEAM.
*We learned about mergers and acquisitions and competed against the top Tennessee teams my team came in 3rd in the first annual championships.</p>

<p>I do other stuff but these are the most important to me I am also the only non-Asian kid in my school's Asian club am regarded as most fun guy in that club.</p>

<p>WORK EXPERIENCE
I am currently working at A.N. Shell Realty a Real Estate Agency in Inwood, Uptown Manhattan and am one of the youngest if not the youngest future real estate agents in Inwood getting my license in April Yea!</p>

<p>I also worked at my local pharmacy, as a pharmaceutical assistant filling, filing and ordering prescription also providing excellent customer service.</p>

<p>Recommendations:
1. A Microsoft Technology Specialist Manager for the NY/NJ Microsoft region
2. A Vice President for the Corcoran Real Estate Group
3. Manhattan Times Newspaper
4. A British Menswear Designer</p>

<p>[I intern at all these places being that I took a hiatus between high school and college]</p>

<p>Here is the deal...I got accepted at a CUNY [City University of New York]:Queens College!</p>

<p>Didn’t like the school... [C’mon it wasn’t Vassar!]</p>

<p>I wasn’t having fun...I hated my classes...it was a loooooooooong commute from my home...I live in Manhattan...from Where I live to Queens it is a 2 hour commute give or take....two trains and a bus...NAH Man!
[oh I live on my own…pay my own bills…do my own laundry mature huh…okay okay my mom helps out a little…but does that help does it show maturity?!] so yea I hated the commute....soooo I decided to be a BOSS like I am...I intern at Corcoran and Microsoft...long story...I intern at a hip New York soHO menswear design house, and at my hometowns newspaper Manhattan Times...its a newspaper just for the Uptown Manhattan section of the island....lol and I have my own company... <a href="http://www.jhendi.com%5B/url%5D"&gt;www.jhendi.com&lt;/a> ...I partnered with <a href="http://www.spaceion.com%5B/url%5D"&gt;www.spaceion.com&lt;/a> [VP of Marketing] and launching Real Estate Company when I get my license... <a href="http://www.opalave.com%5B/url%5D"&gt;www.opalave.com&lt;/a> ...plus spaceion and I donated our school a college and career planning website...yes a young philanthropist....!

<p>No can do. You can't take the SAT I with anything else, due to the length of the test.</p>

<p>So in the same vein as the first poster here, I applied to Vassar, because I decided it was a nice school with the exact atmosphere I wanted (liberal).</p>

<p>Some stats:</p>

<p>SAT I-
Verbal 730
Math 670
Writing 650</p>

<p>ACT-
30 Composite. I recieved an 11/12 on the writing (I wonder why I didn't do so hot on the SAT writing).</p>

<p>I'm top 16%. Just missed that cutoff, it's quite ridiculous anyway. 438 kids in the class.</p>

<p>I have a 4.15 GPA, weighted of course. I'm taking AP Chem and AP German. The rest? Not particularly noteworthy.</p>

<p>Oh, and I attended ASP (Appalachian Service Project) for 2 years- it's quite like a Habitat For Humanity, but church-related (not that I go to church).</p>

<p>So, pardoning all my rule breaking (I just registered a few minutes ago), what would you guys say my chances at Vassar are?</p>
