Tell Me Realistically!

For Wharton.

2240 on SAT I.

(No I’m not a URM, athlete, recruited athlete, or national champion in something)

Assume good-great ECs, essays, recs.

DO I HAVE A GOOD CHANCE?

Hahahaha sorry I’m kind of worried and I need some opinions.

I greatly appreciate any input!

Oh and also, does it help AT ALL that I got that score in one sitting?

I know that they look at the highest combined score but do you guys think that will help me even a little bit?

Of course you have a decent shot, assuming your GPA and class rank are both excellent. And for Wharton, your math score should be 750+.

what's the breakdown? a 680M/760R/800W might be a tad low, but that SAT is nothing to fret about regardless.

760 M/ 750 CR/ 730 W

Thanks for the feedback!

=)

yeah you're totally in the clear as far as tests are concerned.

I would say you have a 30% chance ED and a 20% chance RD.

audiophile, how can you make that kind of judgement when the only thing the kid gave us was his SATs?!?!?!

posting just ur scores doesn't give us any indication of ur profile.

U Penn admitted 34% of its early decision applicants in a record breaking year for Penn. Overall, the school accepted 3,912 students, or almost 21% of the 18,820 applicants for the class of 2009.

I figure the stats are slightly lower for Wharton and he has as good a chance as anyone else.

Actually, the stats for Wharton RD are much lower than that, something like 14% overall (ED and RD combined)I think.

Even the College acceptance rate was only 14% RD last year. 21% refers to combined ED and RD.

Harsh, but true.

hey we have the same SAT score with almost the same breakdown!
(W 760 V 750 M 730)
AND HOW IS THAT LOW!?!? Okay maybe for Wharton.

I'm applying to the school of engineering. I think that's a bad idea.

yeah i definately think you have a great chance (more than mine, so don't sweat it!)

only like 13.5% of ed'ers at wharton get in... so it depends. are you a man or women or both???

Haha I'm a man. But I'm certain the ED acceptance rate is more than 13.5%. Where did you get those statistics?

Early is 25-26%. But keep in mind, jus like any other school ed acceptees are usually athletes, urms, people bein recruited for some type of hook, and just extremely competitive people in general. So I'm not even so sure that applying early really up our chances of getting in.

Don't forget to include legacies.

yeh, legacies too, plus girls, lol.

Does anyone have the real stats for Wharton ED? With a credible source?

Hahaha we've been over whether or not ED improves your chances greatly in another thread and we came to the conclusion that ED at least improves your chances a little (Because even if you don't get accepted, you get a chance with the RD pool anyways).

Also, Penn doesn't give a large amount of preference to girls. Their female:male ratio is about the same.
