tell me this isn't true

No it's not true. 3 kids are going to Princeton from my random high school. (not that that alone is sufficient evidence). But that is only a myth.

Top universities have feeder high schools from where they take many students. From my high school about 10% go to a nearby top 10 National university.

Tambone, which top 10 college? As far as I know, even Andover and Exeter don't 10% to a single top 10 school.

I rather not say. But in a hs with about 100 students, 10% is ten students.

Do you mean 10% of the class or 10% of the high school's total number? I ;ooled at Andover, Exeter, St. Paul's, Harvard-Westlake and several top NYC preps. The closest to 10% to a top 10 school was 10 of 133 kids at St. Paul's going to Brown last year. It's quite possible that another 3 or more were accepted. Unreal!

Are you talking a public or private high school? And do you mean a US News top 10 college?

Private High School with a senior class of over 100.
Yes, It sends around 10 students each year to a top 10 Nationally ranked university. (from USNews)

Of course there are several reasons why they do this. It is possible that some parents work at the University, some have donated large sums and graduated from there, etc.
