Tell me what you know about the other (non Chapel Hill) schools in the UNC system

Whoops! Good catch, LolyGAGHa. I meant to say smaller privates.

Have no clue why if you are in NC, you wouldn’t go to one of the top UNC Schools. Why are you considering a non “Chapel Hill” school? Do you not like Chapel Hill. Here is in order of difficulty of being accepted

Here’s the skinny:

Duke: Well, its DUKE! Come on! Liberal arts, technical. If you can afford to go to Duke and you can get in, wow!

Wake Forest: A UNC Type private school. They are more selective because of sheer numbers that apply. Many folks get into UNC CH yet fail to get into Wake Forest because WF is much smaller and has the same standards.

UNC-CH: Great school for those with a top academic schedule who want to go to a liberal arts college and then go on to graduate school. Good for business majors, pre-med, pre-law, etc. Not as good for technical resources.

NC State- Great school for those with a top academic schedule and great for those interested in the sciences (technical) and the agricultural sciences (which can make you a good $) and Design (architecture). Great place for a liberal arts degree but just not as good as UNC-CH for that. The centennial campus is a site to be SEEN!

Appalachian State: Great Liberal Arts school for those who may not be able to get into UNC OR NC State but are looking for a great hometown university experience while enjoying a good sports team.

UNCW and UNCA: Very similar schools and both very good options for average students who competitive in school but not necessarily in the top 5%

UNCC: Great place for those interested in NC State. They have a great engineering and CS curriculum and are very much right behind NCSU (if not equal) in their design school.

ECU: Don’t get me started. Party…
