Attended 2006 Junior Statesman Summer School at Georgetown University for three weeks in summer of 06.

Schools:
Harvard (EA)
William and Mary
Amherst
Dartmouth
SUNY Geneseo
Georgetown
George Washington
Boston College

Any other suggestions for good Gov/History programs?

Ivies and Amherst are unlikely with those SAT Is, ACTs are just below avg at Harvard and Dartmouth, good at Amherst. Georgetown looks like a good possiblity as a slight reach. You're in at the rest.

GTown or BC.

BC or W&M. I suggest adding schools like Vanderbilt, Emory, and Tufts.

Holy Cross and Colgate.

Not Harvard. Try Penn.

Strong History/Gov programs at:

Cornell, Tufts, Williams, Wesleyan

Harvard (EA)-- no shot
William and Mary-- slight reach
Amherst-- reach
Dartmouth-- reach
SUNY Geneseo-- safety (don't know much about it)
Georgetown-- reach
George Washington-- match
Boston College-- match

Woah, you guys. The median ACT at Darmouth is 29-34, so he is right within the median. An ivy is a reach for nearly anyone, but there's a chance!!

seriously your ECs are amazing. don't let these guys ^ steer you away. apply to harvard.

how are they amazing?

Ahhhh, the constant reassurer. Cap, i'm not a cattle rancher, and I'm not steering anything. Based on factual evidence and the OP's stats, Harvard is a pretty big reach. I scored 15 points with some ballers in a pick up game at the Y, maybe I should call up Kobe and see if I can join him on the Lakers. Those ECs are great, but everyone has 'em at Harvard. Stats are below average.

Compared to the amount you'll spend at these schools, the application fee is nothing and applying isn't hard, so apply all those places and more.

Harvard (EA)--reach (scores won't cut it)
William and Mary-match
Amherst--slight reach
Dartmouth--match to slight reach
SUNY Geneseo--safety (strange safety in my opinion)
Georgetown--match to slight reach
George Washington--safe match
Boston College--safe match

I predict you will go to Georgetown or Dartmouth next year.

Calcruzer - I appreciate the lack of brutality in your comment. I'm thinking Georgetown is the place for me, since the interview went tremendously well. Also, SUNY Geneseo is my safety because it is very convenient geographically (I live in Rochester, NY), and the price is right.

you are also from NY, so you have a lot of competition from the other students in your state. Your stats, besides your SAT scores, are amazing. I am assuming that you are in the top decile in your school, if you aren't the valedictorian. However, your ACT score is better than your SAT score, so I would send that in with your SAT IIs instead of your SAT I. I think you can get into Gtown.

You will go to to Brandeis

Did you get into Harvard EA?

i think your going to BC....i dont know what my reasoning is though
