i did emerson’s ‘the american scholar’ for my critical analysis and put in the wrong draft because i’m stupid and didn’t realize it was eastern time until like a half hour before it was due. meh.

@explode: cool(:
@balloon: I think it’s sometime in March, not sure though.
@Philo: I’m pretty sure most of us are quite interesting(: Going through those essays takes some dedication too.

the website says mid march

When do I find out whether I will be interviewed?

You will be contacted about your interview status in early March, and interviews will take place through the beginning of April. Applicants will be notified at this time whether or not they have been selected for an interview. As soon as you are selected for an interview, you will need to request a transcript and a letter of recommendation. Further instructions will be provided to you at that time.

I wrote about existentialist themes in Hedda Gabler.

Congratulations for all the procrastinators that managed to submit your applications on time - i commend you for your tenacity and quick-typing ^ ^

I wrote my critnal on Wired for War by PW Singer.

I wrote mine on “The Fall of Rome” by W.H. Auden.

36 days until March! <3

wrings hands anxiously

I wrote mine on Atonement (the book, not the movie).

And I’d love to read what everyone wrote! PM me, i know i’ve already messaged some of you. but like Philovitist said… I WANT MOAR. XD

I’m up for swapping essays if anyone’s interested. We can all read how awesome everyone else’s are and wallow even more in our own inadequacy! whoo!

Anyone else not mention TASP to their parents? I’m lololing internally at the awkward moment that will probably transpire if by chance I get an interview… “Hey mom & dad, I applied secretly to this super prestigious summer program that will basically mean I’m away for six weeks and potentially ruin any summer vacation plans…”

What do you guys’ application statuses look like now? Does it say “Sent, received, and confirmed”?

Anyway, I’m up for swapping any of mine, really, though I’ll change the name in my personal conflict essay lol. Who’s up for trading, again?

@randomazn14

That’s the same as mine says. :)

Last night… in the section that says the start date, submission time, etc… it said about being confirmed at around 9:01 PM PST… but now mine says it was confirmed at 8:20 AM PST… I’m not concerned as long as it was confirmed, but anyone know why the times keep changing?

i’m willing to share some of my essays, they’re laughably awful;

PM me, and we can swap, or if anybody has alternative social networking accounts…

My critnal is actually on Brave New World…not sure if that’s good because it probably won’t be too original D:

Essay trade, essay trade, essay trade.

anyone wanna send me essays? :)

@oneten: ME!
Any specific ones?

I’ll swap with anyone who’d like to! Hit me with a PM peeps.

I won’t swap My essays are very conspicuous.

But anyway. Yay! IT’S OVER! (Unless I somehow beat the ~11% interview rate and have to freak out about THAT… but yeah … never gonna happen. )

TASP had better appreciate my writing is all I’m saying. (I WANT IN SO BAD LET ME IN TASP LET ME IN NOW.) Uniqueness is good, right? I’d like some commendation, as far as literary skills. :/

And also… congrats guys for finishing without being as pathetically neurotic as applicants of previous years. GO CLASS OF '13!!!

@Leisha13
I agree. I spent so much time on those essays.
