Telluride Association Summer Program (TASP) 2012

HUNGER GAMES REFERENCES!

@pepperocini: I got my responses off their website but I don’t quite remember how. If you look back through this thread, however, you will find the post in which I asked and the post that answered my question.

Hey Pepperoncini, I hadn’t saved my final drafts, since like a lot of others here I was making changes right up to the last minute. I sent them an email asking for my essays and they replied the next day with a PDF of my entire application. Ask and you shall receive.

you can also log into your TASP account here: https://www.applyweb.com/apply/corntell/</a>
it should lead you to you application.

When going over my application (for the millionth time. Terrible habit, I know.) I realized that I check the box marking “telephone” as the best way to reach me. Now I’m quite nervous, as I really should’ve put “email”. Is it worth is to contact them asking to change it or should I just let it be?

i too am loving the hunger games reference. i’m currently completely obsessed with the books. TEAM PEETA <3

It’s strangely comforting to know I’m not the only one thinking about the approaching interview notification. My gosh, just imagine how agonizing the college acceptance wait will be. On another note, I finished Mockingjay about 2 weeks ago and literally stared at the last page for a good minute. It got me super-obsessed with dystopian novels. I’ve already gone through the ones everyone has raved about: Shatter Me, Wiher, The Clockwork Angel, etc. haha so strange that we’re all as obsessed with dystopian reading as we are about interview results

As for dystopian books… THE FOREST OF HANDS AND TEETH = <3

Interview notifications have come out the first Wednesday of March for the past few years, so we can probably expect ours around the 7th, if they’re keeping with that timeline.

As for dystopian novels- The Hungry City Chronicles! More steampunk than future dystopia but so awesome all the same.

Wow; so soon. :O

i’m more of a utopian novels kind of person - you guys ever read the “redwall” series? ahahaha so many great memories of waiting for the latest installment at our local public library

I reviewed my application for the first time since submission, found a typo, and cursed the God that allowed it to happen. (it vs. its)

:(

@YoSoyBean

Hahaha Redwall… those were the best! (Ah, the days of yore… elementary/middle school)
Which was your favorite? I always loved Rakkety Tam the best. :)

rakkety tam? yes! i also always liked the long patrol (russano the wise was probably my favorite character), and i always had a soft spot for loamhedge

Not to freak anyone out, but I stalked the threads from the past few years and the interview notifications seem to always come out in the general area of March 1-3. That’s 5 days away. And also slightly terrifying.

officially freaked out man, OFFICIALLY FREAKED OUT.

Omg so soon D: I’m not ready to face rejection… Lol

I’m not good with rejection. Especially so close to the SATs and my school’s spring musical. :(

well, my summer will soon be easier to plan…

I really hope I get in… )= I need something amazing to do this summer.

^So do I.

I’ve only been able to do one summer activity in before (Fresh/Soph Summer)… and that was because it was free. Summer programs = too expensive for us. :(

I know I shouldn’t get myself down about the chances… but I am. But hey! Anything’s possible. The other program I got into (name withheld) had, from what I understand, a lower acceptance rate. <10 out of thousands. So maybe I could make it into TASP as well! … doubtful

It sounds like such an amazing opportunity; I would die to get the chance to participate. Even an interview would make me cry.
