@SubParStudentAB - Temple allows students to not send in their test scores and instead send in a few short responses.
@travelbug22 - The acceptance letter comes a few days later.
Received letter of acceptance into Temple honors program last week but no mention of merit money scholarship with it or with the acceptance to the university. what do you think - maybe no $?
@TenCh430 That’s interesting bc my son’s was the opposite. Letter had merit but no mention of Honors College. Did you apply EA? High stats? Instate or OOS?
@TenCh430 did you check the letter on the Portal located in the Next Steps section? Seems very odd to have the stats for honors but no merit aid. I can’t recall if DD’s merit aid was in the physical letter that came in the mail, but it was in the letter on the Portal. That letter also had her honors acceptance. I can see getting merit and not honors, but can’t see how you’d get honors and not merit aid.
@TenCh430 you realize there’s two letters, right? The honors acceptance is a separate letter on its own, and the other letter is the general acceptance letter that will have your merit. I peeked at your stats on another thread, and I’m sure you must have merit. Check for the other letter.
My son had a merit award in his letter. So I guess he did not get into the Honors College. I do not see another letter.
does anyone know when we will receive a package in the mail ? or is the decision just uploaded onto the portal ? i received a happy holidays card from the liberal arts college lol but no official acceptance mail package.
@sgamyllas , portal notification first, acceptance letter in the mail a week or two later.
D20 finally got accepted today! (Portal notification)
Hoping her stats are high enough for Presidential (ACT 35, SAT 1540, 4.67 wGPA lots of ECs)
Now just wait for that letter and hope for Honors college as well!
CrackintoPieces . Does it say on her portal if she got into the Honors College?
@momfromBalto … the portal just says admitted … as of about noon on the West coast … nothing else has changed on the portal … does say Ambler as she is wanting to go Liberal Arts.
I didn’t expect the letter or merit or Honors for a day or two based on what others have said.
Way to go, @CrackintoPieces ! I’m hitting refresh on my TU portal about 30 times a day but I didn’t get the ‘application completed’ screen until 11/18, so I figure it will be a while.
@Orcus2020 ours was “completed” just a week before that … so any day for you!
… now just hitting the refresh for the scholarship/honors college as mail will take a while to get to the West coast!
Oh man, that’s great to hear. Thank you for the reassurance @CrackintoPieces !
Am I hearing correctly that it should be about a week after you see “Completed and ready to be reviewed by admissions counselors”
Applied 11/1 EA, showed completed 11/25 so now were just waiting… and waiting… and waiting…
Well, ours was about 3 weeks after showing completed … and compared to many universities, this is a fast turn around
D’s portal just updated: The letters are there … Honors College! and Presidential Full Tuition scholarship! Whoo Hoo! Very Excited about this.
(FYI for those still waiting, portal update with acceptance on the 2nd in the morning here (2pm EST), letters populated on the 4th in the morning here (2pm EST)
Stats: OOS, 35 ACT, 1540 SAT, 3.79GPA, 4.67wGPA stong ECs, strong essay and just a super good kid.
Are there any people in this forum that have average grades or even above average grades… why does everyone seem to have rocket science grades?
@nglaw1836 I literally laughed out loud at your comment. We’ve been waiting for my son’s decision since he applied on September 23rd and we are getting nervous. He’s an above average student but I’m not so sure that’s going to get him anywhere when I see the stats of accepted students already. It’s quite disheartening since Temple is his #1 but we have to keep the faith that he will be accepted where he is meant to go. Good luck to you!
