Temple 2024

Our kids have avg/above avg grades. Yes, it seems those that get offered significant merit $ hear first. Oldest got into Temple for Film & Media Arts 2 years ago after being deferred in Dec/Jan, then waitlisted in March, finally accepted in April. Our second son is now in the waiting loop as well at TU, applied for Journalism. He’s been accepted to other places so we will see how it goes. Patience - yes there are a lot of TU success stories who didn’t start out with 4+ GPA’s on HS.

According to last year’s thread, “on hold” seems to be what other schools call “deferred”.

@rkressly This is an incredibly important point! Thanks for sharing it.

On the day my D got her acceptance her portal changed from
Applicant
On Hold You will receive more information in January
On Hold You will receive more information in April
Admitted

So,
A. Hit the refresh button a lot today
B. If it sticks, call the admissions office and inquire

You have never mentioned your S’s stats … just that he is above-average … test scores at or above TU’s average?

@CrackintoPieces his stats are at Temple’s average. He spoke with his admission counselor today and she stated that he should submit his 1st and 2nd quarter grades and then a final decision will be made on his application in March. Still crossing our fingers!

How long does it take for you to get an acceptance letter and financial package in the mail after you receive acceptance?

@rickqwert , about a week or so but the same letter and info is posted on the portal a few days after acceptance. Congratulations!

Thx!

Congratulations everyone who got accepted !!

Congrats, @rickqwert ! I also applied with a comp sci major - way to go!

Still waiting for an EA decision. Applied to the Film program. 3.7UW, 32ACT. I wonder why it’s taking so long…

I applied for Film and Media Arts in early October but still haven’t heard from them. I’ve heard that people get their decisions in order of their major, can anyone confirm? Anyway, let me know if anyone else who applied for Film got their decision.

What exactly does "Hold for further review " mean - is it a flat out no? :frowning:

Accepted! EA for Film & Media Arts.

I was admitted to Temple for an Information Science and Technology degree with a 3.7 GPA. When would I find out if I get merit aid or not?

You’ll see it in your admissions letter once its posted.

Still waiting and am getting worried…

Wait so if you don’t see merit aid in your online acceptance letter that means you received none?

My daughter got the same thing. There was no info on the portal so I called. Admissions said to have her first and 2nd qtr grades sent in and that we should have a response back by February…ugh more waiting
