@kimba3842 @SAD1010 Mine came in just one letter, “Congratulations! On behalf of the Undergraduate Admissions Committee, …
As a result of your outstanding achievement in high school and your potential to excel at Temple, I am pleased to name you a Founder’s Scholar, which carries a $9,000 annual undergraduate tuition scholarship … In addition to your merit scholarship, you also may be eligible for need-based financial aid.”
@izrk02 on line?? or the letter that was in the packet that came in the snail mail?? i believe @kimba3842 was asking about the online notification
@SAD1010 @kimba3842 that was copied and pasted from the online.
@izrk02 hmmm… interesting. both my son’s had two separate letters online.
@SAD1010 Got the packet and no merit letter. We did have to send a copy off his SS card for validation. Maybe that’s why? Really hope to get something.
@kimba3842 sorry to hear that. wishing you the best of luck.
@kimba3842 that’s most likely it. they want to verify information before making a promise of thousands of dollars
If there’s not merit in the acceptance letter, there is most likely no merit. Further, Temple does not require FAFSA or a social security number for merit, only for need based aid. International students receive merit and obviously don’t have a social security number. My oldest is a senior at Temple. What are the stats?
@mommek3 That would be unfortunate and put Temple out of reach. 3.6 and 1120 SAT. Lots of extracurriculars and work experience in the field.
@kimba3842 It might be that SAT that’s preventing you from getting merit, as it places him in the bottom 25%. His gpa is average for temple though if it’s unweighted, so I’m not sure why they wouldn’t give you any. But don’t give up! You could still get enough financial aid to balance it out.
It’s definitely the test scores keeping you out of merit. Congrats on getting admitted, though.
Hey everyone, please post admissions decisions on this thread so prospective students can see how they stand and we can stop clogging up this thread. Thanks! http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/temple-university/2167141-temple-decisions-thread.html#latest
my application was completed 10/22 and I applied rolling, but i still havent heard back. does anyone know when they’re going to start releasing rolling decisions again? i thought i read that they do all the early action decisions before going back to rolling
@Scaryspice123 It says on the portal that it could take up to 8 weeks during peak season (which is now). They’ve most likely gotten through all the EA applications and are moving onto rolling. It’s also the holiday season which would slow down the process.
Stats were pretty much average for Temple both GPA and SAT wise. @Orcus2020 Lots of EC’s tho
Thank you, @SubParStudentAB - congratulations again!
My son was accepted to University Studies! He is over the moon about it. Go Owls! In-State, Stats are nearly exactly the Temple average. Dad is alum.
Accepted 12/16/19 as a neuroscience major!! Not super high up on the list but a great option!
Accepted!

When does Temple release financial aid (not Merit)?
