Currently waiting on aid that will be released Mid to Late-February. I also have not been given a scholarship (that I know of) and don’t know how much aid I will be given also but my EFC is 0 so it has to be at least a third of the tuition for an out of state student. This is also my dream school so I am praying everything works out in the end.
I had a couple questions about the self report for Temple. First, does anyone know why they do that eve though counselors could send in an official transcript? Second, I didn’t put my GPA on common app because mine was weighted and my counselor told me that colleges will get it sent to them. If I self report grades and didn’t put my GPA on common app, then will Temple get my GPA somehow or should I email them.
@Jenibv That gives me some hope. I love everything about Temple and my grades and stats are in the middle 50% so I’m scared I might not get accepted. I am so anxious to get my decision but I keep thinking the worst. I made a bad decision of not applying EA and I’m scared that’ll affect my chances.
When did you apply, @usd2cad ? Congrats on your acceptance!
@Mpatel520
The self reporting tool allows Temple to use their own algorithm to determine GPA … also allows them to balance out applicants who are on a 100 point scale versus those on a 4 point scale
My understanding is they may filter out grades from non-academic courses (e.g. Student Aid taken for a grade) and may weight classes differently from how your HS does.
TLDR: You are fine … don’t worry.
Finally heard back tonight - accepted! whew was starting to get anxious.

Nothing in the aid portal yet, but upthread some said that it might be 2-3 days before the acceptance letter gets posted to the portal. I received nothing at all by email, for those still waiting. And was refreshing the portal about 10X a day. Nothing in the mail yet, either.
Almost exactly 8 weeks to the day. Thank you for encouraging me along the way @CrackintoPieces . I’m very relieved and grateful to be accepted.
Congrats @Orcus2020 !
Expect that you will see any merit awards either tomorrow or certainly by Tuesday. (Monday is a holiday)
Your ACT score indicates that you will likely receive a nice merit award!
Congrats again and enjoy the happy dance!
Thank you so much, @CrackintoPieces . I’m super pumped just to get in, but am glad to hear that there might be merit, too. Appreciate your kind words!
Any guesses on when Temple will release their Financial Aid packages?
@OceanIsle Most likely releases it during Feb or March, I think I read that somewhere.
@Orcus2020 Thanks!! I applied rolling in early October because I thought I would hear from them soon. Was so surprised when I found out that they process EA applicants first and then rolling. I think they’re done processing EA applicants now. Btw, congrats on your acceptance!!
Thank you very much, @usd2cad ! I’m really happy and excited - now to see if they offer merit aid that makes Temple a possibility.

How long do i have to wait for the decision for Temple Option?
Gpa: 3.88
@tixnvx A lot of people on this thread have used Temple Option. I’m guessing it won’t take more than 8 weeks, but you should get an answer by late March, since that’s when most decisions come out across the country.
@tixnvx my daughter had the same update. She had received one email missing one item and then the one your received after. So slight delay. I feel like we heard within two weeks from that last notification. She also applied early action.
My understanding is that Temple makes a decision on your acceptance using your freshmen, sophomore, and junior year grades but if they think they need more info to make a decision then they might ask for senior year grades. Does that sound right? Also how long did it take any regular decision people to get a response. I get that they have a lot of applications but just wondering cuz I saw on the website that it could take only 2 weeks to get a decision. Anyone get theirs in just a couple weeks? Just very anxious.
@Mpatel520 There is no Regular Decision at Temple, just EA and rolling. My guess is that those who applied EA and before 2nd semester started didn’t have senior year grades looked at (as is typical). It should take at most 8 weeks for you to get a decision, but now that peak season is (almost) over, it should take around a month.
My Daughter was accepted in November and she has yet to receive any financial information. The portal has that she has submitted everything for financial aid but there is nothing in aid or grants. Is it unusual not to hear anything?
@user_462523 No, this is normal. Need-based financial aid usually comes out in February or March. Any merit aid would be noted in the online acceptance letter.
i just got accepted! how do i figure out merit money/aid and if i got into the honors college?
