Congrats to everyone who has been accepted so far. We applied mid Oct but entered grades a few days later. I think we still have some waiting to do, but I still keep checking!
Crackintopieces those are extraordinary scores trust me you wont be paying any tuition…any reason ur d or s not looking st upenn with those scores? Very likely to get in also did snybody notice upenns ED was down near 15% this year than others perhsps those kids applying to temple w extraordinary stats raising the bar for merit
It seems like the portal is down currently so maybe that’s good news that they are updating more admission decisions??!!
the portal is not down for me right now, it was about an hour ago.
Now it’s back up and running…and still no update. ??
Applied early action for Computer Science. Submitted application on October 27 via common app and still nothing.
I just got into Temple today!!
Accepted on Nov 16
When did you apply? Can you share your stats and your major please?
I submitted my EA OOS app through common app on Sep. 29 and still no update.
My son applied to Temple’s Klein College of Media and communications 10/26. I haven’t seen anyone post yet who got accepted for class of 2024. Anyone else apply for communications major and waiting to hear on acceptance or was accepted?
Accepted today for Political
Science! Application was complete 10/22. Will update with stats once letter is received.
My D has worked hard for certain … when this year is done she will have completed 14 AP classes as well … we are very proud, and she is a really good kid on top of it all. Thanks for the encouragement about the potential scholarship she may receive.
It is all about the merit aid. She would perhaps get into UPenn but we couldn’t write the check they would ask for. Temple’s merit aid is what draws us along with the location and the variety of programs.
She has a few dream schools (UChicago and Brown) where if she gets in we will have the talk of that’s great but we can’t pay for it.
Still waiting for my S’s decision for poli sci as well and he completed everything on 9/23. ?
Check your portal today my guess its updated by tonight with full scholorship…that being said i work w guys who make much more me 130k…and upenn considers them poor their D only had pay room and board all 4 yrs …i bet very reasonable up to 180k…i love temple though no disrespect to a great school…just check bet today tonight latest tomorrow full tution
For crackintopieces above your D must be tremendous hope my S finds someone like her someday lol
Got acceptance letter today w/ 8,000 merit a year and honors acceptance. Kind of disappointed with merit though considering people with stats lower than mine got provost last year. 1440 sat, 4.3 gpa, 10 ap classes with 5s, etc.
LOL if only! UPenn’s net price calculator had us paying way over $50K which is just not in the realm of possibilities for us.
For Temple, we are still waiting on acceptance and hoping for full tuition scholarship … have hit that refresh button perhaps too many times
I of course think she is the best on the planet!
CrackIntoPieces…coming out of lurking mode (my daughter is a junior) to say kudos to you and your daughter! I am finding in this whole “college arms race” it is too easy to get caught up and forget about the large $ implications before it is too late. We initially felt some odd type of guilt in setting expectations with her but know in the long term she’ll be better off for it. And maybe my husband and I can eventually retire. :smile
Best of luck to your daughter–sounds like she will KILL IT no matter where she goes.
Thanks … good thing to stick your nose in there a year out of application time. I have to admit that I must have been living in an igloo and I somehow did not realize how evil the FAFSA is to folks in our income bracket. Make too much to qualify for much need aid but not enough to write a check … all the while paying for elder care for our parents at the same time and spent the past 15 years just surviving one family disaster or recession after another.
Means we allowed the “dream schools” to be implanted as a possibility for too long.
She will be awesome wherever she goes … and we REALLY like Temple as one of those options!
