ouutahere2017 DS applied early action
I received admission today but it was just a folder with flyers in it. No word on any financial aid/ merit. I applied early action. I also got in to the honors program.
Early action.
Got packet with honors pamphlet, no mention of scholarships yet.
My daughter had nothing in her packet about honors so I guess she didn’t get in. 31 ACT, 4.4 weighted. Very disappointed as this was the deciding factor.
Has anyone from Rolling Admissions heard back yet?
I just checked Temple portal I was glad to be notified I was accepted.
@3irishgirls Can I ask why getting into honors is a deciding factor for you? According to the website there is no extra scholarship for acceptance.
@shelleyr25 last year honors (along with my scholarship) was a deciding factor for me for the following reasons:
- priority registration - huge deal in a large university.
- Honors advisors
3). Honors classes capped at around 20 to 25. - Guaranteed four years of housing. Honors are the ONLY Temple students with this perk.
- A community of like-minded people.
Yes- agree with jnkm24. Those factors were all very important to my daughter. Without honors, Temple has, unfortunately, fallen on the list
Thanks, that makes sense. I guess we will have to wait until her other schools send out their acceptances until she makes a decision as well as waiting for the scholarship (if any) from Temple.
@coffee-and-cramming: My DS applied (rolling admissions) around 9/20. Still hasn’t heard anything.
@Suzannej That’s interesting. May I ask why your child didn’t apply Early Action if his/her application was done around September?
Accepted! Submitted my Common App on 11/1 for that last-minute Early Action. UW 3.95, W 4.7 / 1580 New SAT. This is such a weight off my mind!
EDIT: No Honors College or financial aid/scholarships. I’m a bit put out. Was that it, then?
Congrats @tuesdaypeople !!! Did you receive your packet yet? Some people have received honors info in there. So far it seems that nobody has heard about scholarships- or at least, nobody has posted about it.
Just accepted!
Submitted on TUPortal on October 19th (received all documents November 1st).
Early Action.
New SAT-1220
GPA 4.0(weighted)
I applied rolling to fox and haven’t heard back yet. App marked complete on 10/14
@knights99 @Suzannej I think it’s likely that Temple will wait until all Early Action applications have been reviewed and applicants notified before reviewing Rolling Admissions applications. You might want to call the office to clarify the time schedule.
Does anyone know when we hear about merit or financial aid?
@coffee-and-cramming We didn’t see much reason to apply Early Action, since the rolling admission response time is posted as 4-8 weeks. It’s just odd that it’s been about 10 weeks–my two older children applied to Temple as well under rolling admission and heard back very quickly. Although I understand that this year there were complications around financial aid and merit awards… We might call this upcoming week if DS does not hear.
@Suzannej I applied 9/2 Fox rolling and haven’t heard back either
