Temple Admissions Class of 2022

Has anyone applied under Temple Option and was recently accepted?

Whoa! Went back today and clicked on my daughter’s acceptance letter again. They changed her four year merit Founders scholarship to $9,000 a year. We are out of state so that helps tremendously. When all is said and done it will add up to about a year’s tuition.

DS successfully passed the portfolio review for Tyler School of Art at Temple. They are still waiting for final grades from counselor but I think this is as close to admission as you get. They sent a letter about the Portfolio Scholarship Competition - but it is of course $10. Has anyone done it? Is it worth it?

We applied for the portfolio scholarship and haven’t heard back yet. However, in my opinion, you’d be a fool to pass up the opportunity based on a $10.00 SlideShare fee. If it’s that much of an obstacle, call the admission office and see if you can get it waived. Whatever the scholarship is, you can be darn sure it’s worth more than $10. Judging by my daughter’s merit scholarship money so far, I get the impression that Temple is overall a pretty generous school.

@JerseyMom2022 Thanks for the candid comments. I went to the link but it said that if the portfolio had already been submitted then it did not have to be resubmitted. Had you already passed the portfolio review?

@magnetnh yes. My daughter passed the portfolio review in November at National Portfolio Day in NYC. So technically she just had to apply to Temple. We were told that students who submit their portfolios via SlideRoom are all automatically included in the scholarship competition but that students whose portfolios are reviewed in person still need to submit 9 pieces plus a self portrait to apply for the portfolio scholarship.
So we paid the $10 & did that when she did her common app a couple of weeks later. I cannot recall if there was a question on the common app or a question in SlideRoom asking if her portfolio had already been approved or if the common app somehow already seemed to know that she had already passed that hurdle and just needed to submit for the scholarship. But it was very clear in SlideRoom that this was for the scholarship only.

@JerseyMom2022 Thanks for the update.

Hey guys! I got accepted to Fox school of business today. My stats are 1320 SAT, Class tank - 1/30, International student, Pretty good EC’s. I hope all of you guys make it! Just hang in there

Also, I was wondering how I can view my acceptance letter again. Like I saw on my checklist that my official letter is here. But due to connectivity issues , i did not get to view it and my letter got off the checklist. Is there any way I can read it again? Thanks!

@Nealthakker
I would call them and ask. That letter is super important because it includes your merit aide. My daughter’s merit aide changed from $5,000 to $9,000 in the course of a few days.

@Nealthakker just click on show completed. No need to call.

Application put on hold. Applied early action yo Fox Business undecided. SAT 1230 GPA 3.0. Was put on hold early December. I’ve been sending in my quarter grades and semester grades any chance I’ll hear back before April?

@JerseyMom2022 @jnkam24 Thank you, guys. I found the letter. Got a scholarship too! I’m happy :slight_smile:

Where is the letter located on the portal? I can see under 'Your Account" status is changed to ‘Admitted’ and under next steps it list “enrollment and housing deposits” and "Register for “Experience Temple Day”. But I don’t see any official acceptance letter anywhere??

@soccermom22 That will show up in a few days!

Just got accepted to Temple! (1/31) i’m beyond ecstatic, this is my dream school :)))))
Stats:
GPA: 3.5 UW, 4.03 W
SAT: 1210 (580 math, 630 reading)
class rank: 101/637
applied: 12/1 RD
major: undeclared (klein college of media & comm.)
took almost all honors courses and a few APs
only in a few clubs (like 3) and not very much community service

I think part of the reason I just received my decision is because I emailed Temple to ask them if my application was complete and I checked a few hours later and I was accepted!

The only thing is, i checked the portal very late at night and there are only 2 things on my checklist (while all my friends had 3), the acceptance letter is not there (even though it says admitted and has info about my housing deposit) i’m stressed about that, did anyone else have a similar experience? i’m hoping it shows up within a few days…

@catlover542 yes. All is well. You have been accepted. The letter will show up in a few days along with your merit aide.

Was anyone else asked to upload a copy of their social security card due to data on FAFSA not matching data in Temple Application?

sunny2018, who requested the copy of your SS card?

The request for the SS card is probably legit, but I would never do it without first calling the financial aid office to double-check
