Temple Chances

Hey everyone. I'm currently a senior at a small (>200 students) private school on the island of Kauai. I'm planning on applying to Temple undeclared. Here are my stats:

GPA: 3.15 UW ( my school doesn't offer AP classes)
I've only taken 3 honors level courses: Honors English, Honors Government, and Honors Great Works. (these are the only honors level courses that my school offers). I have gotten B+'s in these classes.

SAT's ( took it 3 times and going to take it for a fourth time December 1st)
Highest Scores:
CR:640
Math:470 (reason why i'm retaking it)
Writing:570
I'm hoping to score at least a 510 on the math section the next time I take it.

I have about 80 hours of community service. Most of it comes from volunteering for the World Food Program in Cuba.

Other ECs:
I manage a small-medium sized eTrade equities account and have had some success. (9% this year.)
Model UN for 2 years. (Represented North Korea both times on Nuclear-non proliferation.)
Since 10th grade I have worked as a Busboy at my parents restaurant.
Played Golf (9th and probably 12th) Basketball (9,10,11) and Volleyball(9,10,11, and probably 12th)

Temple is my first choice, and i'm really worried about my chances! I just finished my first trimester of senior year and got a D+ in math! It hopefully won't drop my 1st trimester gpa below 3.1 (I have all A's and B's in my other classes), but i'm still worried.

If I were to raise my math SAT score to above a 500, what would my chances be?

If it helps, i'm a first generation URM (cuban/black) and i'm in an underrepresented state (Hawaii).

Thanks!!!

bump…

I would call Temple a match, do you have a decent chance.

I’ll feel less nervous if my SAT math comes up. But i’m more nervous about my GPA.

Honestly I know several people with those types of stats who were unhooked and got in. Make sure you have strong essays and recommendations and you should be fine.
