Reflection

Strengths: The essay I wrote was really good, and I feel like that was the factor that really got me in. It was probably the best essay I’d written my whole high school career…and I hope it doesn’t sound like I’m tooting my own horn. I’ve always felt insecure about my writing but this essay was so great I couldn’t help but feel really proud. Also, I had demonstrated interest and also I live in one of Temple’s “target zip codes” near the university, so I think that helped me a bit too! (I actually took my SAT in one of the school’s lecture halls!)
Weaknesses: Low SAT
Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: My essay, GPA, and probably the fact that I live in one of their target zip codes.

General Comments (merit aid given, honors, etc): No merit aid or honors position.

Congratulations! Awesome news, @historyfreakmida !!

Temple is in my D’s top 3 right now … will be doing an additional visit in February

Hooks? URM ? Can’t respond cause I know not what those are :frowning: Hmmm

@BekuMBJ A hook is something in your application that gives you an automatic upper hand in decisions compared to other applicants, like being a minority or being a legacy student. URM is an underrepresented minority. I believe it includes African Americans, Native Americans, and Hispanic Americans.
