Temple Honors 2023?

Hey! Has anyone else been admitted into the honors college at temple so far? Please comment and we can talk about it! Are you strongly thinking of going there? Did you get a lot of merit aid? What other schools have you applied to? Stats?

My SAT was a 1490 with a 4.6 GPA, and I love community service (specifically working with people that have mental disabilities).

Also any prospective students are welcome!

Hi. I was accepted to the honors college along with a presidential scholarship which covered full OOS tuition. If I get into Temple’s BS/MD program, I am definitely committing to Temple.

My SAT was a 1550 and I had a 4.3 GPA.

I was accepted to the honors college for the Fox school with a presidential scholarship (full tuition covered). My SAT was a 1540 and my weighted GPA was about a 4.3 as well. I’m not sure if I will be committing to Temple. The full scholarship sure is tempting, and I love the diversity on campus. Will probably choose after I hear back from more schools. Are you guys going to any experience temple date?

I got that scholarship too! And yeah I’m going to the Feb. one, are you?

Hi! I was accepted to the College of Liberal Arts with an undecided major. I received a presidential scholarship as well. My ACT is a 34 and my weighted GPA is a 100.15 on a 100 point scale due to honors and APs. I’m seriously considering Temple, but am waiting to make a final decision until I hear back from other schools.

Hey! I was accepted to the College of Liberal Arts with a neuroscience major and I’m planning to be on a pre-med track. I was also accepted into the Honors Program.
My ACT is a 31 and my GPA is a 3.85. Temple Honors is definitely one of my top choices but I am still waiting to hear back from a few more schools.

I will also be at the Experience Temple day on February 16th!

Hey everyone! I’m seriously considering Temple with the Honors college and Provost Scholarship ($72K). I had a 33 ACT and 3.9UW GPA. Majoring in Neuro as of now.

I haven’t seen anyone else so far with the Provost Scholarship (most just none or presidential). Does anyone know why this may be? Also I was kind of expecting the Presidential one bc my sister (applied 2015) received it with lower sats and EC than I. The requirements probably increased, but congrats to everyone that received it!

I got the provost scholarship too as well as the honors college! My SAT is 1440 and i was hoping for the presidential scholarship but I understand the choice considering the presidential scholars have super high test scores. Congrats to all!

In to honors. Full tuition. LOVE the campus. Just nervous about the engineering programs. No chem eng and not ABET accredited. Anyone know anything about temple engineering??

@Rivergal66 I don’t know much about temple, but if the engineering program is not ABET accredited, the engineering degree from that program is not seen in a good light by employers or graduate schools. Do a search online and other sources will tell you the same.

@Rivergal66 According to the ABET website, Temple’s programs in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, and Bio Engineering are ABET accredited. Were you interested only in Chemical?

That’s what I’m afraid of. But then again MIT is not ABET…

Chem or environmental

My D was accepted to Fox, Provost Scholar, Honors Program, and Fox Honors. 1460 SAT, 3.9 gpa, 7+ AP’S. These stats would have been Presidents Scholarship in past years but looks like 2019 is a very competitive year. I have a junior D in Fox and she loves it. Congrats to all who received a merit scholarship, and who were admitted for that matter. Looking forward to Experience Temple Day!

@Rivergal66 @kidzncatz - Here is info on ABET accredition for Temple Engg programs -
https://engineering.temple.edu/about/accreditation

The Engineering bachelor of science programs (CE, EE, EE/Computer, ME) are accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, http://www.abet.org. The College is excited to announce that the Bioengineering and Engineering programs have been reviewed and approved for ABET accreditation. The Environmental Engineering program will seek accreditation during the next review, after it graduates the first students from the program.

@Rivergal66 BioE was just accredited. It takes a while for a new program at any school to receive accreditation, but accreditation is retroactive and my understanding is that for a school with other well- established engineering programs, it’s a reasonable expectation that a new program is fairly likely to get ABET as well.

I got the Provost’s scholarship as well, Neuro major, honors college with a 1480 SAT and 4.3 GPA

@stencils what does retroactive mean? If I start in environ engineering and they become ABET before I graduate I will have the ABET certification from temple?
