Does anyone know how difficult temple honors college is? I know the requirements but they don’t really describe how hard it is? Will I have free time? How much homework do you get? How does it all work? Is it do-able? Did you feel prepared coming from a public high school?
depends on your major, my son went to a small public high school and has been fine. homework varies by class and yes, he had free time, especially his first year.
i’m a biology major
do you think the honors college would be a better choice when applying for med school? like does the med school care if the applicant is from an honors college or a regurlar college? do you think (program wise) penn state is better or worse than temple honors?
the Temple honors staff has guided students through premed programs, mcat taking, etc, so yes, it would be a good choice for that alone, not sure on your other question.
psu is strong across board. i don’t know whether psu or Temple is better premed and which prepares you the best to do well in med school. what i tell others who have post BA aspirations is keep the undergraduate costs as low as possible since you are planning in your case for 8+ years of school. that factor would support Temple but i would talk to premed students or even better, get on the medical students or premed pages for CC and get input from students in the field. they will know more than me on this. All the best!
