I was accepted to Temple via the portal a couple weeks ago, but I’m still waiting to get my acceptance in the mail. On the portal, it says “You are invited to register for Experience Temple Day and our Honors Reception.” Does this mean that I got into the honors program? My mom asked a couple people she knew and she said that their kids’ portals didn’t say anything about an honors reception. If it helps, my SAT scores are Math-660 CR-660 Writing-760 so I think I would be a Provost’s Scholar.
We have heard the Honors acceptance packets were started to be sent out today… Should start arriving in a week or so…
Its our speculation that if you were invited to the honors reception on the portal then yes, it looks like you got into the Honors Program with one of the 2 (Provosts or Presidential) scholarships … Congrats!!
Per the academic scholarship .pdf (http://admissions.temple.edu/sites/admissions/files/uploads/15_16_ADM_Scholarship_APP_Final2.pdf):
“President’s and Provost’s Scholars are automatically admitted to the Honors Program.” So it looks like you got one of the big scholarships! Congrats!
Also, because I’m a mom who is dorky in her love for researching colleges: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-0nUEyxtBe4

Temple Honors seems like such a cool group of diverse people. I’m really hoping my D gets a chance to visit this winter. Also, thanks for all your regular contributions @ctl987 to the Temple threads! It’s been very helpful over the last year.
thank you!
Hi Folks. We went this past Saturday to Experience Temple. I thought the Honors College orientation was especially good – lively and varied. A couple of current students mentioned that they thought it would be hyper-competitive, but actually people study together and help each other.
my son has not found it competitive at all. he;s a sophomore.
