Anyone still waiting to hear from temple?
Yes! My daughter is, just auditioned last week.
Okay thank you! Did they say how/when they would be notifying? @musicalmama
No they didn’t. Hoping for good news. 1 acceotance, 1 defer, 1 waitlist and lots of rejections! But waiting on several stil
Oh my gosh @musicalmama same here!! Fingers crossed.
@destiny95 - my daughter is still waiting also. She did a walk in at NY unifieds, really liked the auditors and then applied for academics. I know you have to be accepted academically before they make an artistic decision and that they are backed up on that process. My d is 1st in her class with high sats so we know she won’t have an academic issue, but we still haven’t gotten academic acceptance yet. Hoping for good news for all!
I heard from Temple in February. Rejected for BFA but they “might” have a space for me in the Theater - MT specialization degree??? Confusing. Oh well.
@sleepymom thanks! They are still processing mine as well. @TheGlassIsBeauty hang in there! I’m sure you’ll hear some more news.
@sleepymom - My D was also a walk-in at NY Unifieds. But they didn’t say that she had to apply to get a decision, the dept had just been emailing back and forth about whether she needed to apply. She got her decision the beginning of March without applying. Just so interesting to me that walk-ins with schools seems to have different “rules” than audition appointments, and then separate “rules” even within the walk-ins. Crazy. Best of luck to your D and to all the others waiting for Temple!
You’re so right! @stagedoormama I was told I could not have a decision until applying. But I know some who didn’t and already know if it’s a yes/no. Makes you wonder about why the difference in communication! Best of luck to your D as well!
The part I’m confused about is why they have a BFA in MT and also a BA in theatre with a concentration in MT. If ANYONE can explain the difference between the two Temple programs to me that would be great! (I’m assuming it’s a different level of attention, maybe different teaching staff?, different expectations and different opportunities???)
Honestly, I kind of overlooked Philadelphia and didn’t realize Temple had a musical theatre program so I only just found out when I saw them at nyc unifieds. I didn’t realize they had two paths one could take. They said you had to apply to the school for the BFA after auditioning at unifieds. The rejection came a month later, with the invitation to apply for the BA in theatre. Good luck to all of you!!!
I am still waiting, after chicago unifieds I received a letter of interest from the BFA program and then a week ago I checked my portal and it said my application was complete but I haven’t heard back
@TheGlassIsBeauty I am not 100% sure but I believe the BFA in MT is new this year at Temple. My D looked at Temple, but never applied because they didn’t offer a BFA, and the BA with MT track just didn’t give her everything that she was looking for. I will also say that we had a less than awesome tour experience, so she was lukewarm on the school anyway. She is now a freshman at Hartt, which I saw your D was accepted to. If you have questions about that program, feel free to send me a PM and I am happy to answer any questions for you. She is very, very happy there.
My daughter is a 2016 incoming freshman in Temple’s BFA MT program. Anyone know how we can fid out who her classmate are?
How was your daughters first year at Temple? It is a top school on my daughters wish list for this fall so thats why I ask. Thank you!
