My daughter has visited a lot of schools but Temple is her first choice. I’m not sure whether to send her scores or do the temple option? First of all we are out of state but in an area where I think they don’t have a lot of people applying to temple. Going into senior year she has a 3.63 GPA. Had a 3.75 for her junior year. She scored an 1120 out of 1600 on the new SAT. Still needs to take the ACT one more time. Her senior year courses are AP Psych, Honors Humanities, Honors Horticulture, Honors Journalism, Gym, CP Pre Calc, Honors Chinese 5. She has taken Chinese for 4 years, science for 4 years. She also took a DCC accounting class. Her activities include: Dance Team(captain senior year) 4 years, LAX 2 years, Interact 4 years, Chinese NHS 2 years, English NHS 2 years, another college level dance team 2 years, journalism club and writing for the school newspaper. She also has work experience as well as volunteer work. She wants to go to school for communications. My question is do you think she can submit her test scores or should we do the Temple option and what are her chances of being accepted at Temple??
Yes, I am so applying so just don’t submit that SAT score. I think your daughter is a good student and if she shows an upward trend, it’s a positive and 1120 is a bit low so don’t submit it and don’t stress too much about SAT/ACT.
If you don’t send test scores you will be required to write a supplement essay. Your best bet is to apply earlier because it’s rolling admissions. If you’re a strong writer do the essay otherwise send in your test scores just remember there’s no going back if you decide you decide not to send your test scores. Not sure what there acceptance Rate is for out of state.
My daughter has a 3.5GPA and 1200/1600 on her SAT scores. She speaks both Spanish and French. I did not read the Temple Option close enough to realize once you choose it there is no going back and now I am worried that my advice ruined her chances.
She did apply EA, but has not heard anything- do Option students tend to hear later?
Thanks,
