4.0/4.66/34/1st in class OOS. Accepted but only $3k in aid. Kind of disappointed. Will be declining. Don’t assume you’re getting a lot of aid even with good stats.
My son is OOS and just found out today he was awarded $5K in merit. 4.0/4.45 gpa and 34 ACT. FBLA and TSA clubs and works 20 hours a week year round. Pretty disappointed. He’s taking it off the list and it was pretty high.
I’m glad I’m not the only one! Your S sounds a lot like me in stats, activities and eventual disappointing merit results. Good luck to him in the rest of his search!
Wow! I guess I don’t feel quite as bad at D21’s dissapointing merit amt. I’m surprised they didn’t offer more for those 34ACT’s and great grades! They must be really cutting back this year.

Was thinking the same. Mine didn’t submit test scores and also got the 5k. OOS and makes the cost way too high still
has anyone who applied to tyler school of art gotten a decision yet? wondering if they’re going to be bunched together.

Wow super disappointed to hear that the acceptance letters included the merit amount. Sounds like my daughter got no merit then as her acceptance didn’t talk about numbers at all and this is her #1 school. What a bummer. We were hoping for even $3-5k and would have been good for us.

Does anyone know the amount of the Dean’s Scholarship? Is that the 5K people seem to be getting?
DD was admitted into the College of Engineering and received a Dean’s scholarship for $14k. Her stats are 34 ACT, GPA 97.33w, not ranked, long-term commitment to extracurriculars but no leadership roles. Minimal volunteer work. We’re OOS, NYC public school. Applied 11/12, accepted 12/7, letter with scholarship info 12/10.
So happy to have her first acceptance! Hoping to hear about honors soon…

Applied on 10/26 to cst and still have not received a response. Should we be concerned or is it normal to wait this long?

Is he in state? Colleges give more to OOS. My Dd19 was awarded $5000 from Rutgers per year, $17,000 from the university of Delaware. (we are in NJ).
