Temple University Class of 2025 Discussion Thread

Is your 3.9 UW or W ? Did you submit test scores or applied with test scores ? Did you take rigorous classes?

When I talked Temple AO ? She mentioned the above items as part of their evaluation.

I assume you are in state? I think my daughter got $18,000 but is OOS, 4.2 WGPA, 33 ACT, 7 AP’s the rest honors, 3 season 4 year varsity athlete/captain, part time job since 14, AP scholar with distinction, NHS, tri-m, Spanish honor society, clubs, volunteer hours.

Btw, I don’t think I received this scholarship off of my stats, which I am proud of, but they aren’t exactly the highest. This is an academic merit scholarship, but I’m thinking they liked my extracurriculars and essay which revolved around community and diversity.

Congrats!

congrats !

Was anyone accepted/rejected? I still haven’t heard anything from Temple :disappointed:

D21 was accepted about a month ago. OOS with 10k merit per year. 93, 3 APs, 5 dual enrolled & rest honors. Decent ECs Club Soccer, EMS, and 300+ community service. Unfortunately not enough merit to consider since oos. Good Luck.

For those who got in…what are y’all doing with regards to financing tuition? Federal loans don’t seem to cover all my needs…any advice on where to get started?

I think Federal loans should cover any need after grants. I haven’t looked into it recently, but I looked at it 2 years ago for my brother. My parents took the parent plus loan (had a higher interest rate though) and my brother took some federal loans as well. Between the two, it covered everything and he didn’t even have a scholarship.

If federal loans don’t cover it, your parents will need to co-sign private loans. This is what we’ve done with our kids, once they graduated and were employed the loans were transferred to their name only. We also paid the interest all 4 years (actually 3 1/2 years, my oldest both graduated a semester early by taking 18 credits most semesters, the next kid is on schedule to graduate a year early, started with 30 credits.

same, i applied by the ea deadline and still haven’t heard anything

i read from somewhere that all EA applicants will have received a decision by Jan. 10th. I also haven’t received a decision yet for Nursing which kind of leaves me thinking the worse but I believe that we should be getting ours sometime this week. Not sure if anything changed due to covid and the extended deadline but crossing fingers :crossed_fingers:

Son just got his letter on the portal. Dean’s Scholarship OOS $14,000 a year, School of Liberal Arts. Honestly this is more than we thought with his stats and puts Temple in the running. It’s a much bigger school than he (or we) wanted but being in Philly is a huge draw. We’ll see.

My daughter was accepted to University of Pittsburgh nursing but we haven’t heard from Temple nursing yet. Has anyone heard back + or -?
