anyone else have their application “on hold”?
Does Temple require a final transcript after a student has been accepted?
I applied the first week of 2021 and got accepted today. I’m so excited
DD was accepted into the Honors Collège today, but no mention of merit in either letter. Too late to call admissions. Are we out of luck, do you think?
Following up - spoke with an admissions rep today via zoom and he said that Temple started using a new system for admissions this year and they are now finding out that some applicants who were accepted are not getting the letter nor is it shown in the portal, but should be within the next 2 weeks.
My kid was accepted (applied back in October!) and also got a nice merit scholarship! Very relieved!
What a relief!
Congrats! Did you already receive the merit scholarship information? My daughter’s letter had said Feb which I think has been postponed till mid March. Did your portal show the information or did you receive an email as well.
No - we scheduled a zoom meeting with an admissions counselor responsible for your area (you can find this on their website - I was shocked to find out they offered it). Called and he apologized and said their system should have been updated by now but will be soon and assured us of acceptance plus a $5k merit scholarship.
Very friendly/nice. Of course, there’s always the chance we’ll get the letter and it says something else but I’m optimistic : )
Great to hear! We’ve had good interactions so far. My daughter applied late January and was admitted on Friday (3/5). We’re out of state and were surprised to get a grant for need. Today she got awarded a small merit award, but I’m thinking it will offset the need based aid, but still better for us.
accepted in 2020Dec, got invited into honors college, and received a good amount of merit scholarship
I applied back in September and still haven’t heard back i guess. Yesterday my checklist disappeared. Today everything went back to normal but now my checklist has steps checked off saying “Your application is currently on hold for further review. You will receive an admissions decision by no later than end of December.”, “Your application is currently on hold for further review. You will receive an admissions decision by no later than beginning of April.” and “Your application is currently on hold for further review. You will receive an admissions decision by no later than beginning of August.” I’m getting so frustrated and they won’t answer my emails. I guess I keep getting deferred or something. Does anyone know what’s going on? I’ve already been accepted to more selective and higher ranked schools so at this point I think I should just withdraw but idek how to do that on the portal.
We also had communication issues with Temple’s admission counselor or lack of. Since you have not been accepted, there is nothing for you to do. Even if you want to withdrawn, there is no button or link in portal that I can see to let you do that. You can email to Admission office and let them know that you want to withdrawn.
Hope that help.
By any chance have you talked to the department/college they applied to? I am wondering if they have influence or if it’s all central.
I’m just really confused. Does this mean I’m deferred until August? I guess I can email them but I doubt they’ll answer
It won’t hurt to call. Have you tried that?
Just checked my portal and my status has changed to admitted! thanks for your help everyone
Congratulations!
I’m not going here due to only $3,000 per year merit and not much more fin aid, but I recently checked my portal to withdraw my application and saw that I got into the honors program?! Anyone else have that experience? I submitted on November 1 I believe and was notified mid December. I remember checking the portal randomly in February, so this must have been relatively recent. Crazy stuff. Best of luck to all.
My son was admitted to TU for computer science. We have narrowed his choices down to Temple or U of Delaware. I’d be interested in any insight you may have on Temple’s comp sci department, what “sold” you on TU for comp sci (or in general). With the COVID issues, that puts another dimension into the decision. UD is a much bigger school with more condensed traditional housing than TU. But there are also favorable aspects to the UD kind of campus. Thank you!
