i applied to tyler in early september and still no decision-- thoughts?
We are still anxiously waiting here!
Still waiting here as well…nursing
still waiting as well.
We are waiting too, but we applied later. Hoping for decisions this week.
Just joining the forum. Still waiting as well- my daughter sent in her high school grades on 11.16.20 so I realize that is not a lot of time… hoping before Christmas she will know one way or the other! Thanks to all for sharing your information.
Daughter was accepted a few weeks ago to the fox school of business. Went in test optional. 3.7 gpa unweighted, 4.6 weighted. Only got the 5k a year which makes the tuition way more then we can afford since we are out of state
I just received my official letter of acceptance in the mail! It was posted to my portal in early November.
S also just received his official acceptance in the mail! Very cool packet. Acceptance letter inside did not include scholarship info that was on portal. I guess they may be done by different departments.
Congratulations to you all!
Our D received acceptance letter in the Portal date 11/11/20 and haven’t received the letter in the mail yet. Is it the same letter but in paper form ? and “cool packet” = goodies ?
Thanks
I applied to Temple and my application was completed on the forum on October 16, I applied rolling admission to their Global Studies major and still haven’t heard back. Hoping to hear back within thee week. Has anyone else apply rolling admissions and hear back yet?
by anyone’s best guess, do you think i have a chance of being accepted to tyler’s architecture program? i have a 3.8 gpa and went test optional, and both of my parents are alums. i applied EA in september.
@ttb1263 I’s not the same letter - just a different congratulations letter. No goodies, just a creative acceptance “brochure.” It would be easy to think it’s just another college mailing as it isn’t in the traditional big white envelope. It’s black and red with CONGRATULATIONS on the back. You will probably get it today. We live in Philly so we are probably among the first. Not sure if they will send the scholarship info separately?
@fionamiller2021 I’m surprised that you didn’t apply EA since you were far ahead of the EA deadline. S applied EA around the same time and heard 11/9, but again, that was EA. I would think they evaluate EA first, but not sure. Maybe reach out to your admissions rep. Good luck!
@mmgreeen Sorry - I know nothing about their architecture program, but I know it’s very competitive at many schools. A 3.8 sounds great for Temple, but it depends on rigor of coursework with that 3.8 and if that is unweighted. I also have no idea if you have to submit a portfolio. I would definitely reach out to your admissions rep if you don’t hear soon, I am thinking Tyler might take longer to make a decision than other schools? Fwiw my neighbor attends Tyler for another major and loves it. Crossing fingers for you!
Thank you for the info. Wow ! If you live in Philly then Temple would be ideal in term of cost since you will save money on room and board on top of in-state tuition.
@ttb1263 True, but S will not live at home unless Covid is still an issue. Anyway, with the in-state tuition and his scholarship (5K/year) plus lack of transportation costs, it will definitely be his least expensive option. He also really likes Temple. We will see what happens with his few remaining schools and after admitted student sessions at schools.
We did received the letter in the mail yesterday but it ended up in the junk bin since it looked like more like advertising mail.
I saw that your S also applied to Pitt. I’m so jealous since PA has more choice of good public universities. Our D is also applied to Pitt along with other neighboring states of ours. She still has to wait for a few more school’s decisions so I guess we will make the decision in April.
Good luck to your son.
Cheers
@ttb1263 It did look like marketing mail! Yes, we are lucky to have good schools in PA, although they are among the most expensive “state” schools since they are “state-related” not really “state” schools. That said, Pitt is great. Since S got in for engineering, it is still a contender, but it is a little far for him and he really likes Temple’s overall vibe. My sister and her husband went to Pitt and it was a finalist for D17. Excited to hear where your D ends up!
Same for my S. Acceptance letter and honors info was in the packet, but the scholarship on the portal wasn’t in the packet.
Congrats to all who have heard their “yes” decisions! Sounds like it’s been about 3-4 week turnaround for those of you who went EA? My daughter finalized her application on 11/12 so we’re hoping maybe in the next week we’ll hear back too! The wait is a killer!
