You never know!
College of Engineering question as it relates to Merit:
Can anyone confirm If Merit Award Data was released on same day acceptance was confirmed?
Or, would those awards in any instance post directly to the portal?
Acceptance occurred a few weeks back and am wondering if we are missing something on this end or if generally it posts after acceptance.
S22’s merit notification came two months after acceptance.
My son was admitted to Fox (business) on 10/22(ish). He received notification of his merit award around 12/23. That seemed to be the first merit “drop” (nobody had heard anything about merit prior to that date). So no, nothing at the time that he was admitted. I would imagine that they will continue to review for merit as applications come in. The award was in his portal. There was an email, but it didn’t arrive until after the portal was updated.
My son’s merit award came 6 weeks after admission.
My daughter applied 11/1. She was accepted 11/5 to the College of Public Health. We still haven’t received her aid package. Should we be concerned?
I have just been accepted to Temple University with Honors and the Dean’s Global Scholarship (15k a year) is there a chance that I will receive additional merit scholarships/financial aid?
Just noticed tonight that fields are starting to become active in the “Cost and Aid” field in the portal. No information had been posed for my son yet but if you click on “Financial Aid Package” there are new tabs that have been added. Hopefully we will be seeing some type of information in the not too distant future.
How long does it take for Feb 1 regular decision to come out? My application has just been marked as “Complete Ready for Review”. Im also a Transfer so curious if they may review the First Year applicants first? Just so excited!!!
OK, this morning all the tabs in the “Costs” section that had been added were removed.
I suppose they are testing the format, but this is a bit frustrating.
Did you get scholarship info with your acceptance?
yes
Got an email saying financial aid out at the end of Feb, so close (but so far )
So did we!
Financial aid is posted on the portal (didn’t receive email or anything)
My son received an email about financial aid at 6pm EST. We’re full pay, so didn’t expect anything. He received an additional $1000 scholarship from Fox on top of the $18,000 that he already received. He also was awarded an unsubsidized loan. So nothing groundbreaking, but considering that we’re OOS, not bad either.
My daughter just received her financial aid package and we’re in shock. She filled out the FAFSA in October and our EFC was $250 and she has 2 other siblings in college at the moment. Her cost after aid is almost $33,000! Is this correct?
A $5,500 un-subsidized loan. Otherwise, nothing. Disappointing.
The thing I found interesting was the sharp increase in “room” and the zero increase in “board”. Temple’s real numbers do not come out until June. It will be interesting to see if those numbers change.
Guessing on the breakout of aid but it looks like you are OSS and got $10,000 in institutional aid plus the other standard government programs, Pell, WS and Perkins loan. Probably did not get any merit aid. Yes that is about right. Actually probably more institutional aid than average. For an instate student at that EFC $10,000 institutional aid would probably bring the package to almost full need coverage on tuition/housing depending on the major.
