What opinions do current/alummni students of Lasalle have about the school?

hmm... theres this guy on here named jPod who loves Temple... I bet he'll be responding to this thread real soon.

But from what research and what I've heard about Temple it seems like a very nice safety (well for most people on these boards). It's in a very urban environment so if you're not used to being in the rough part of a big city you may want to visit the campus... It has above average academics with a good business school, especially if you want to do actuarial science, and probably a lot of opportunities to find jobs related to your field... it's in Philadelphia after all. Also has a nice Division I basketball program if you care lol...

I'm taking a summer class at Temple. It has a nice main campus when you're on campus it's full of normal students. There are other campuses that I don't know about. Off-campus, a med student told me, is "scary", but there is campus police and other security.

It's not bad. I was considering applying there. There are research opps and normal college offerings. I don't know how the academics are, since I'm only taking one general chem easy class.

Here I am! Yeah, I take a college marketing course at Temple and my dad is an Alum. Temple is a great school for all kinds of people. It is known as one of the most diverse schools in the country which is a good thing IMO. I would say overall, Temple has GOOD academics (depending on major of course).
The area itself is very safe, unless you are an idiot (which im sure the OP isnt). Any other questions about the school, let me know.

Bumble what are you taking?

temple is in a really ****ty part of the city

Jesus effing christ. How many times do I need to say this? So is Hopkins, Yale, Supposidly USC, etc. So? Why should you not go there because of that?
It's not even that bad. I walk around campus daily and have never had a problem.

temple is way underrated.. i think it should be ranked in the usnr.. from 85-100

temple is awesome. my uncle went there for undergrad and got a 4.0 and he went on to wharton for his mba :]

Temple and LaSalle are both in rougher parts of Phila. but have nice campus settings, albeit, urban settings. So decide if urban is what you want.
Two differences are that LaSalle has a smaller undergrad pop than Temple and is also a Catholic college so that will influence curriculum (i.e. a liberal arts core and some philo/theo requirements) and the campus life somewhat.
