Have any of u ever heard of temple university in philly? its a fairly large school and i was wondering if anyone knew anything about it...

Temple is a good school in a not-so-nice area ... it's not especially competitive or selective in admissions, but it has several good programs. I don't know any specifics except that the med school is decent.

i agree with lilybbloom, except for i think that "not-so-nice" area is a bit of an understatement. it's located in one of the worst parts of philly. it's still relatively safe, but it's also very unattractive.

however, in temple's benefit, it's got a great art/music program (and a campus in japan), as well as others that aren't coming to mind right now..

It's a decent school, what was said above is true. I think it's also pretty good for telecommunications. If youre into business I would suggest drexel, because of its respected co-op program. Drexel has a higher admit rate but also has higher admission stats (The difference is around 100 SAT and 0.3 GPA) . Drexel also has a lower teacher/student ratio by about 7:1 and is from what I've seen a nicer looking campus, not to mention within walking distance from UPenn :)

The school is ok at best. It is pretty much seen as the local school for average Philly high school grads. The area in which it university is located is terrible, however, it is a college campus and as such will naturally be pretty safe.
