So I applied to Temple via Common App, and did the test optional application, simply because I felt as though my SAT and ACT scores did not reflect my abilities as a student. It’s been quite some time and I’m yet to receive either an acceptance, defer, waitlist, or denial. I’ve talked to other students who did the “Temple Option” and have had the same problem. Is it possible that they review the Test Optional people last?
My GPA at my previous school (Freshman, Sophomore, and half of Junior year) was about 2.9 and was a very rigorous private college preparatory school. After transferring halfway through Junior year due to a high level of bullying and not being happy at the school my GPA is between a 3.0 - 3.3 .
My essay is very good and spent months working on it, and my activities résumé is very good too; I have two internships, wrote for an online fashion and lifestyle magazine, and also a sole proprietor (owner) of my own clothing line.
Temple is without a doubt my #1 choice so I think about this almost every day, and pray that I get accepted. I love it there.
What state are you from? I am from Philadelphia and got my letter of acceptance in December. I know a lot of people who are still waiting however so I wouldn’t be too worried seeing as they probably are waiting due to you not giving test scores because even though they are “optional” they can still help your chances of getting in if you did well. And your essay should help a lot! Best of luck to you!
