Hi. I was wondering if NMH is a good school for soccer and tennis. The coaches all seemed very nice and the facilities were absolutely stunning.

Some background info:
I have played soccer for 5 years and am on the JV team at school this year. Don't play out of school

I have played tennis for 3 years and am on the varsity team this year (freshman). Also I play out of school as well.

I am not looking for sports to be my main focus at school and my main reason for getting into college, but I want a great sports program that will be challenging.

Does anyone have any info?

P.S.: Not to brag, I think I am quite good at tennis, but I have heard stories about kids who thought they were amazing and went to boarding school only to play a sport as a low ranking jv member. Is the sports program that great at NMH that I wont be able to play at least a good seat on JV?

I know NMH tends to recruit for the Varsity sports. Varsity soccer is generally almost all PG’s and seniors. Maybe one or two underclassmen who were usually recruited. Most of them do play club soccer. JV is also competitive to make. There used to be 4 soccer teams, now there are three (since the campus consolidation and subsequent decrease in student population). JV is generally a mix of sophomores and juniors, and maybe a senior or two. The thirds team is usually freshman and sophomores. They are good, but like most schools, it fluctuates from year to year. Even though they have club players, the playing style is more a high school (speed and athleticism is stressed more than skill and technique) than premier club style. Not sure why that is…?coaches. Facilities are excellent with two brand new grass fields last year and two new multi-use turf fields. Indoor soccer is available at a nearby facility during the winter.

Sorry, but I can’t tell you anything about the tennis (nice new courts this year!)

Thanks for the info about soccer. Does anyone know about tennis?
