Tennis - Bears Blank Merchant Marine 9-0

NEW LONDON, CONN.--(4/5/09)--Coast Guard won every set and cruised to a 9-0 win over rival Merchant Marine 9-0 in a non-conference match.

Greg Mitchell (#1), Chris Pappe (#2), Tim Ozimek (#3), Anthony Foss (#4), Matt Faha (#5) and Craig Johnson (#6) all won singles matches for the Bears.

Mitchell and Nick Martin (#1), Pappe and Wesley Figaro (#2) and Cody Isaacson and Vince Falco (#3) won doubles matches.

Coast Guard now trails Merchant Marine 6-5 in the race for the Superintendent's Trophy, which the Bears have never lost.

Here is a rare artist sketch of one of the Coast Guard Tennis players after the win against KP: http://supergolfgifts.com/x015_lg%204x5.jpg

How many more match ups Luigi … Two? What sports are they in? It’s about time that Trophy spends a little time here at Kings Point! lol

The next event is Women’s Softball on 4/19.

CGA softball has won 17 straight games, is 21-2 on the season, and has a 4/c pitcher who is virtually unhittable, she’s 17-1 with a 0.76 ERA.

Although anything can happen, this one appears to favor USCGA. That would tie the series at 6-6.

Which would lead to the final event, dinghy sailing. I know nothing about it.

Wow!

Maybe it will be a tie. In that case, I think how both teams placed in the All-Academy Wrestling Tournament should be the tie-breaker!:)

Is the dinghy team at KP even still around?
